    Default Another hair color thread!

My hair has been very dark brown for years and I'm thinking of lightening it during my appointment tomorrow. I'd like your opinions as to how light I could go without looking ridiculous. I've included some unflattering pics demonstrating a few colors. The one where I'm myspacing at a gross bar shows my natural hair color. The profile shot where I have a double chin shows the lightest my hair has been for a long time. The shot in front of the collage shows something close to its current color. I want to try out lighter colors in the hope that it'll be sexier, but I don't know if there's any real benefit unless you get to blonde, and I probably couldn't pull it off. Unless you think I can.

Also, my eyes are blue green and I have cool toned skin. Was also blonde as a kid.

I think you would look gorgeous with a very cool toned red color (burgandy and violet tones) while keeping the brown base to it. I can see that your brown already has red tones in it, but I think amplifying it would look amazing...with maybe a couple of accent highlights in the front.

Going to blonde with as dark as your hair is now is going to kill it, and it's only going to be able to pull very warm colors (golden blonde) since you're starting out so dark, which I think is going to clash with the pink in your skin.

I like your dark hair. You would look great with light blonde or platinum hair (you have the right eye color and skin tone), but like the above poster said, your hair would be fried.

My dream forever has been to have platinum hair!! I know it's impossible. I've never been able to find a wig that looks good either. But thank you guys! It's great to hear that the dark looks good. Maybe I'll throw in some subtle highlights but I'll prob just have him do the same thing as usual. I've been wanting to change my appearance for novelty's sake lately, so maybe I'll work on getting super toned instead. Or just become a slightly smaller version of my skinny fat self..

The dark looks good but if you want to become a blonde and look good I'd recommend a darker strawberry blonde. But yes, the upkeep, damage, and expense of going platinum....I'm not saying don't do it (in fact I think everyone should try whatever color they really really want because otherwise they'll just keep wanting it so dang bad) but I wouldn't do it until you'd gone a much lighter color but not platinum, or else found a wig that looked good in platinum.

I agree with the girls, who say you can do the platinum blonde. With your skin tone I think that will look great... an all over head color.

If your doing highlights, I say, stick with 1-3 shades lighter of the same color tone, a lighter brown with red undertones would lighten the face. Even though I dont think you need them... The color you have now matches you well!

I kept the base color the same but added a few trashy blonde streaks. I like it but I'm not sure if other people do. I'll post some pics later. Thanks for your opinions!
