I've been out of the country and just got back last night, I hadn't slept in 36 hours, and finally passed out at three am. I woke up to do my blood work to fax to the doctor, I HAD to do it today since my surgery is on Monday. Well, I found a lab and went, I rolled out of bed half asleep.
When they started to take the blood, I felt myself getting the fainting feeling. I have a history of fainting spells throughout my life, and I know that feeling so well. I told the guy to hurry up because I feel like I'm going to faint! He was like, "Just take a deep breath, you're just nervous"..... No motherfcker, I'm not nervous at all! I injected myself with Melanotan for goddsake! I really was just getting that physical feeling!
Next thing I know, I wake up with men all around me gasping for air from the ammonia they put under my nose. I could hardly see anything for about five minutes, and I heard them say, "call 911"
Next thing I know, there's an ambulance and paramedics taking my blood pressure. The first guy couldn't get it because it was so low, so the second guy finally got it, it was 80/42. My pulse was 48, my blood glucose was normal at 112. They told me I need to go to the hospital, but now I felt fine, so I signed a refusal and just went home because I was soooo tired and just wanted to sleep.
Now I'm scared to even get my surgery! The nurse said it was a vaso vagal response, but I don't think so..... I wasn't nervous or scared. What scares me is that this wasn't a typical fainting spell. I really felt like I died and stopped breathing and came back to life. Also, the paramedics asked me if I run a lot or work out a lot, which I do, and they said I'm not getting enough calories, and that we burn through protein so fast..... I don't know how true that is though
Anyone have any thoughts or advice for me? The bitch nurse at the doctor's office wasn't helping at all! She has been nothing but rude to me this entire time!
