Search Help! i need your advice (getting approved for an apartment)!!!

    hey everyone!

I really need your help. i recently broke up with my boyfriend and i need to move out. Im a dancer in the pittsburgh pa area and i work at a master cuts in the mall full time as a stylist. If any of you guys work in a salon or know anyone who works in a salon.. you probablly know that you dont get much of an hourly rate the money is in the tips and comission. I dont really get comission and i dont claim my tips (for taxes purposes) and its hard to get a place just on my salon income because i dont want to write on my rental application that my second job is a dancer! i feel like the people i have been dealing with have already been pretty judgemental towards me i think becuase im young.. so what do i do?!?!? i can afford to go pretty much anywhere bc i have two jobs and dancing obviously helps lol .. i just need approved. apparently being a full time stylist with tips included does not meet anyones fianical standards unless its 550 a month in rent or less and im sorry.. i dont wanna live in a shit hole . i make good money so i wanna live somewhere decent/nice .. ya know i wanna have something to show for it!

so.. can i lie on my application? can i tell my manager at the club that someone might be verifying my employment status ..and to tell them im a bartender? is that weird? any advice would be great.

    Thank you,

    Lacey

You have to file a 1099-MISC and include your wages and your operational expenses. Please send me a PM for more information.

If you don't have tax records there's a few things you can do:

    1) get a shady appartment/gullible landlord: my friend JUST did this on saturday, we were looking for a place for summer and found one that we liked, the landlords never even asked either of us what our jobs were or what we did for a living (my friend works in retail but also dances). I wouldn't say our new place is shady, but its definitely not super shiny or anything, and its in one of the cheaper areas of the city. We did pay them in cash for the 1st month though, so maybe that was good enough...

    2) Get a co-signer. Parent, friend, relative, anyone that has a large enough income that the landlord feels they can cover the cost of rent if you can't.

    3) Pay up front. Save up enough money for 3-4 months rent and pay in advance. MAKE SURE you get a receipt though. If this isn't enough, save up for a whole year lease and pay it all in advance, or show them a bank statement that shows you have deposited enough money to pay for the whole lease. Again, make sure you get a receipt. You could also use bank statements that show that you regularly deposit x amount of money in combination with paying a few months in advance.

You should just look into finding a cute little house with an actual landlord, not a realtor. That's what I had to do!

yep, rent from a private individual..not a commercial place. Typically, the won't care what you do as long as you pay your rent.
