    Sad Post op weight gain

I've heard so many horror stories of women gaining 15 llbs post surgery no matter what they did. Please help me sort myth from reality..... I'm hitting the gym 4x a week, cutting out sodas and cookies, etc. I don't want to turn into a heifer during my idle period. How soon before I can go back to the gym?

You'll probably gain a few lbs just because you'll be not moving much and kinda constipated from the pain pills. So lets say - 5 lbs that you'll gain 'no matter what' that will probably come off in a few weeks after your body gets back to regular and you're up and walking around again.

Just eat right, rest lots and drink lots of water. You won't turn into a fattie because of one boobie job.

I gained quite a bit, but that's because of my own stupid mistakes and I ate like crap.

Watch your calorie intake. I think a lot of the reason why people gain weight post BA is that they have new big boobs. Their perception of themselves has changed. Notice how "bigger girls" with big boobs don't always look like "bigger girls"?

I've never had a BA, but I have some advice. Exercise a lot beforehand (not overdoing it, just don't miss a day). That will make the inactivity a little more tolerable mentally.

Eat super healthy. I am going to suggest eating big salads for breakfast, because seriously nothing makes my feel more healthy.

However soon you can walk, try to go on long walks. I am a competitive runner and i do a lot of strength training and swimming. When I am injured I WALK. Sounds like it would do nothing for me...but it is SO good for the soul.

    Get fresh air.

If it was me, I would not give in to treating myself for a day and eating ice cream or whatever. It would make me feel gross that i couldn't get some major exercise the next day.

Edit to add: I just did a little online research and I read the most PS disapprove of raising you heart rate too much for six weeks or longer. So make sure your walks are not too brisk!!!

Just be careful stop all chest exercises at least 6 weeks before surgery otherwise your implants will take forever to drop and fluff or may not at all!

I was told no exercise and not allowed to lift my arms for 6 weeks so I did pretty much nothing. I was still def not done dropping then so I waited until my skin felt ready and I started doing light exercise at home. Just squats, leg lifts, lunges, etc. I went back to uni which involves about 5-8k of walking a day for me so although this way less then my regular routine I only gained about 5lbs. When you think 1lb is the implants, its not too bad.

I was doing heavy upper body exercising up until about 2 weeks before my surgery, and I don't know what to expect. I told the doctor up front that I have really strong upper body muscles, and he didn't seem too concerned. I was really considering going over the muscle under the fascia for this reason, but he still said under the muscle was better in my case. I have heard this though, what Jessie said.

I just got 375 cc's silicone gel peri areolar incision partially under the muscle, he actually cuts on the dark part of the areola not the border, so that when your nipple gets hard, the scars are completely undetectable.

I'm sitting here all wrapped up in an Ace bandage with drains coming out of each side
I plan on going back to exercise in about a month, but only light cardio, then weights maybe in two months. I am soooo paranoid about them dropping and looks natural, and also not developing capsular contracture. He actually prescribed me Singulair, the asthma medicine, for a few months post op because it's supposed to help scar formation.

^yea one of my consults wanted to do sub fascia for the same reason. Glad I didnt go for that though because Im sure I would have had rippling and they would have looked too fake. My dominant side (also the side I use for pole) has only fully softened in the last few weeks and Im 9 months PO. I think you will be happier doing sub muscle I would hold off on chest until they settle though. I actually hardly work my chest at all now... why do I need pecs? I got huge boobies

I got mine done 3/02 (3 weeks almost) and I've actually lost weight. I've been super strict on what I'm eating, and since I'm literally making every single meal since I'm at home, I haven't eaten any crap at all. I'm worried I've lost muscle mass, but hopefully that'll come back soon enough. I started at 5'10, 154, and an A-B cup, and now I'm a D-DD, and 148, with 2lbs in implants.

For me, I just made sure to avoid all white sugar/flour/dairy except plain yogurt, and I start my day with oatmeal or eggs and spinach. I drink lots of tea with raw honey when I want sweets. I use coconut oil to replace butter. I'm skinnier every day

You will probably gain a few lbs with a BA. The opiods slow down your metabolism, the pain and lack of movement do the same. If you don't eat healthily though, you won't heal. Just wait it out. You'll lose it within a few weeks. Most of it is edema anyway! I think I gained 5 or 6lbs but only kept about 2 lbs of it.

I hope you are feeling ok! I had the same done and was very muscular and it KILLED me for about 3-4 days (and my Dr only gave 3 Vicoden per surgery, I literally thought I was dying!) The spasms in my back were WAY worse than the boob pain. Muscle spasms are your worst enemy so ask your Doc about tips to avoid them. I know they gave me 800mg ibuprofen, but that didn't cut it.

I know! It was so awful!! My incisions barely hurt at all, but I had spasms in my back and around my ribcage for at least a week and they were super bad for 3-4 days. I don't think my back has adjusted yet!
