Can you tell them you work for a promo company, sign up and actually do it a few weekends nights of the month? They pay 15-40 dollars an hour and it is usually really fun work.

Do you have any older friends with children? I always tell people I'm a nanny. Part time, a few days a week, since it's off the books it wouldn't really be hard to prove as long as they could talk to the person you're supposedly nannying for.

How about getting a part time job at a tanning salon? It seems like it would be mellow and you wouldn't have to do much besides wipe down the beds. And you get commission at some places for selling lotions and upgrades, plus a discount

However, I really want to go back to camming full time instead, I love being able to be my own boss, and I would make probably 10X the money versus what I'm doing now. So does anyone have any ideas of any legit jobs I can use as a viable "cover" so I can start camming full time again? And just saying "internet business" or blogging or something won't cut it, it would be too vague of any answer for my parents, I need something really specific to where if they called then someone would say "oh yes, your daughter is working here". Or some tangible evidence of the "job". Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I hope someone can help!
Why do you have to go that far for your parents to verify your employment. does it really matter. the fact is your working.

I might be late to the party but buy a pottery wheel and say your a artist having a good run. You still get your time and you can tell them you need to be left alone to work.

Also you can always give then little pieces of your work to keep the story up.

Yes. PM me or tell me where you live and I'll do a search for you. You don't need a bachelors! You go out and give people samples or crap and wear a little tshirt and shorts/skirt.

It sounds like you need to stand up to your parents and tell them to mind thier own business. as for proving your employment when your a webcam model your self employed. you do internet sales and marketing and customer service. it's not that complicated to go out of your way to take on another job just to prove your employement history.

if your going to take on another job then it should be something you want do becuase it will eat your time and mental energy if its not.

Cover up jobs would be something you say you do but don't actually do.

what it seems to me your looking for a second job that you do to fill in the gap in your resume for when you seek out higher employment, which does not need to be that complicated.

I never stressed myself out when it came to webcamming and what will I tell people because it wasn't something to stress about because I knew I was gainfully employment and gaining skills, and have an income.

When I was escorting there was a gap in the resume because I had income but nothing I could articulate of what I was doing, but then I realized it can be, being self employed is a huge septrum and there is no one right away of being self employed. the key thing to do it is providing a product or service or both.

webcamming, escorting, stripping does that. you need to figure out what the transferable skills are for them and use that when your seeking employment.

as for telling people what you do you keep it vague as possible, if they want mroe details you tell you do not want to discuss work. and leave it at that.

Okay. Since you don't drive I think my idea would be filled with too many lies. We need to find you one simple lie. Simple lie is probably an oxymoron. Customer service?

    Maybe this girl can help

I work during the day as a freelance writer, personally....I could vouch for you, as I own my own web site, say that you write for it. But for the future, you could say that you do Voice Work at oDesk.com (where I have found a lot of freelance jobs)....they also hire for a variety of occupations there. Also, consider saying that you are a social marketer, and that you promote and network for businesses via sites like Twitter. Or that you get paid to post on forums.
    ********
Honestly though, it's best to be as candid as you are able...I think my parents know what I am doing, at one point in my life, I was going to be a sexy maid, but I backed out at the last minute and told my mom....she knows I would be willing to get into the Adult industry, and on the phone the other day she said "just keep it legal" lol but my parents are pretty liberal!

Get an interhship or volunteer position and tell everyone that it is paid even if its not. If you can find one in your field of study, that's even better and will also really help you fill that resume gap. That's what I'm doing right now, it's really very simple and is working a lot better than my previous cover as a gay bar waitress. Making up complete fabrications are too easy for nosey people to figure out. I sympathize with you, my family is terribly nosey as well. So nosey that dancing full time just isn't even worth the stress and I'm on the hunt for a legit part time job to use as my cover instead seeing as I can't see the internship thing lasting that long as a viable cover. Is there no way you can make this shitty part time job work in your favour? Tell them you're only available for one or two shifts a week, but tell everyone you work there much more often. You'll still have lots of time to cam working only a couple times a week. Plus I find having a vanilla job makes you appreciate income from dancing more, I haven't had one for a year and becoming quite the spoiled little princess lolz. Good luck with this, I know it's stressful!!!

Just do Mary Kay, Arbonne, Avon, Pampered Chef...or sell sex toys as I do. I do home parties and when my parties pay me; I put the money in my bank account. Those bank statements I used for a car, apt., proof of income. Its fun and I do most of the work from home but its the best cover up I've found. Or find a friend that you can trust and have them cover for you. Im sure online theres something you can make fake paystubs...but im sure thats illegal, haha. Or say you are an independant contractor or a nanny....or a friend of mien did go to cosmetology school so she got a reciept book and would make reciepts and say it's for her booth rent....there are little ideas. I wish I never told anyone I cammed and just kept it to myself in the beginning for other reasons...Im in the bible belt, however

I just tell people that I do web design/web mastering and they never ask any further. If they do, I would say it is confidential information.

I do feel bad for you tho that your parents are that nosy! If my parents wanted to call my job to make sure I was working there I would tell them to kiss my butt....seriously. If you are an adult, they really don't have the right to nose into your business like that.

My mom and sisters all know what I do tho... I even got my little sis in to the biz and I got my mom doing porn pics and stuff but she backed out saying "it is too much work"... I was like...umm really? Lazy!

If you're an MFC gal, you've probably noticed 'mfcxy' on your statements. Well, great news It appears they have recently created a discreet website to go with this... http://www.mfcxy.com/ I'm not sure yet if they will return emails or vouch for employment, but it is at least a solid link to direct folks to, and it matches your paycheck, and does not appear to be adult web related! Woop woop

I responded to your other post on Camming Connection but I thought of something else you could say. You could say that you were hired to edit videos for an adult website (or a "friend" who does webcam modeling). It's partially true and definitely adult-related.

If you're wanting to be somewhat open about it then possibly build yourself a fetish type site - maybe a foot fetish cam site. Whether or not it makes money it could be something that they'd understand that you wouldn't want to show everyone but at least not too terrible that they'd think you're doing porn. Or hell if not a fetish site - maybe an amazon store. Doesn't matter really if it makes money as long as you have something PG to show people.

That reminds me of something else, you could start selling on eBay. In reality, you could be selling panties on Ebanned or another similar site but if someone asks, you sell lingerie on eBay. Heck, you could even do that. There are lots of wholesale sites that don't require much up front and you can set up a very small eBay store ($16/month) and make a little money here and there. It would be something to show your mom (and other nosy relatives) and it would explain why you're shipping out packages all the time.

I couldn't imagine still living with my parents and trying to cam. Have you thought about finding perhaps another camgirl that needs a roommate? Or perhaps working something out with a friend that has their own place - maybe offer $50 a week to borrow her place while she/he's at work - so you can work.

Also, what about making yourself a profile on Gamecrush.com and just say you're getting played to play video games with guys.

I didn't read everyone's ideas.. but I would just say you are a personal assistant. Coome up with some shit about the person, they are paying you to run errands, schedule, and whatnot. Say they are in real estate or event planning, so you are rarely ever in the office and go around with them a lot. That is what I would do if I had to do that.

I know what you are going through I have to lie to my family too and IT SUCKS!!!! I hate lying they ask questions and I feel so awful lying!!! Well one thing you can do is say you work from home. A makeup artist is a really good cover. Or think of something else you could believably do from home. Say you sell on Ebay, house sit, babysit, walk dogs, garbage pick. There are a billion ways you can make money from home (too bad none of them work!) Good luck and I feel your pain!
