That poles is not for tricks/swings. It's just a prop for posing etc. It's also a peice of crap and will fall down and break if you swing on it too hard. You should take it down and take it back asap.
    Invest in the XPOLE.

^ Ditto, anything that you can buy at Spencer's should not be used as actual equipment. Buy the X-pole.

    The reviews lied.

My friend and I got one years ago, because we figured it was better than nothing.

We were wrong. Nothing was better. That pole sucked ASS. It wasn't sturdy, you could only do really half-assed tricks on it, and even then you could only do them in one direction, because if you did them counter-clockwise it would loosen the pole. It was ugly, it wasn't a smooth surface.

It was an epic waste of money. Never again.

I've got the Platinum Stages super pole and it's super sturdy. I would only ever buy PS, Lil Mynx or X-Pole.

If the add on ebay actually says you can do tricks, ect... and you can find a legit source (like fine print somewhere on the site that manufactures the pole) that says you can't... message the seller with this link and explain that you'd like to return the product you purchased for a refund because you feel the add was misleading.
If they won't give you your money back... open a case with ebay's customer service... ebay WILL give you your money back if the seller lied/was intentionally misleading in their post.'

But that only really applies under the condition that the add claimed the pole was for doing tricks... otherwise... just resell your pole on ebay to make back what money you can.

Not possible. Professional poles start at $250. The cheapest one is a X-Pole Sport that doesn't have the spinning feature. http://xpoleus.com/shop_XS_poles.php

^ Agreed. For a quality pole you can actually do tricks on, you've got to be willing to spend some money. Otherwise, you'll just end up with another shitty pole like the Peekaboo.

I'd also like to add that the actual pole price is only a portion of what you will pay...I purchased a lil mynx in august (which I have no complaints with as of yet, except that it was tricky to install, but that's more my building's fault than the pole's). Anyways the total cost was:

    pole: $249
    shipping: $95
    floor pad: $7.50
    shipping: $5.00
    FedEx invoice (duty): $37
contractor installation: $80 (ceiling mount insertion, pole installation, tension check and alignment, and securing to floor)

so, that comes to: $473.50, when the original price of the pole was $250...and that's one of the cheaper poles. Really really good poles like PS can run up to $600 for just the pole alone. It's really an investment you have to save up for!

^ Yeah, no joke. The X-Pole is available on Amazon for $50 shipping or less, depending on the seller.

Also, if you find an xpole seller, you wont have to pay full shipping. Check the pole studios in you area.

I bought the x pole sport pole and by the time taxes and everything added up i think the total was like 315.00, my pole does not spin but its very sturdy, however the bottom is left out so you could hurt your self on the threads, i would recommend getting the x-pert pole. that pole is 314.00 before taxes and everything else.

I don't think you'll find a pole that is sturdy for $150. Though the pole you bought is shit, I will say that it is quite normal for even an x-pole to be slippery for a few days. The pole itself has to warm up

I had a Lil Minx and it was one of the best poles ever; it was very sturdy, sticky enough to do inverts, but I had to leave it in my old house. Now, I'm saving money to buy this one:

I want the 50mm brass; I can't stand 45mm, too thin for my legs.

Ugh. I can't stand stage/stand alone poles. I'm always afraid they'll tip over.

Also, you paid $95 for shipping and an extra $37 for a fedex invoice? it sounds like you got ripped off!

It sounds like she's in Canada. And Customs lurvssss themselves some taxes.

I would highly reccommend the X-pole. I have the titanium spinning. Yes, it was $400 with shipping, but for me it was an important investment. I love that damn thing!

I needed to buy a pole that would make me feel safe enough to try new tricks. Perhaps this should go without saying, but most tricks require a certain timing. Having to hesitate or pull back can be dangerous. Safety (avoiding injury) was my #1 consideration.

I would definitely splurge (if you can...I do understand what it's like to be broke, but who wants to be out of work due to injury?!)
