I work in NYC. Hotels are pretty expensive most of the time and I want to stay somewhere cheaper, but not gross. Is it disgusting to stay in a newly renovated 3 star if you charge higher rates?

Try Tablet Hotels (tablethotels.com), then go for the cheapest hotel. Tablet has great standards.

If you are going to stay at a hotel there make sure it's an extended stay but a nice one. Why? They are cheaper. You can stay at the Waldorf Astoria if you want, just be willing to pay $600 a night. I usually stay at 4-5 star hotels unless I'm touring up north. Why? Because hotels there are expensive. I am not paying more than $200 a night for a stay.
^ Thanks. I was thinking that if the guy who is coming to see me is paying 500 and hour he would be expecting something shiny.

I was just wondering what acceptable level of hotel would be. I tend to enjoy nicer hotels, too, but spending 250 a night on a room, 15 for internet and food on top of it all gets a bit pricy. I read reviews like a maniac, but wil be paying for ambassador level from my platinum level at ICHotels. You get free weekend night with each stay. Very worth it.

free weekend night with each stay? thats great gonna check that site out now! how long does a stay have to be and can you redeem that free night right away?

ok i checked out the site, still confused about something though, is the 200 dollars per month or a one time fee?
does any one else know any other hotel memberships that are similar and they like/use?
