Default BA Recovery - What to expect

I know everybody has different experiences with recovering from a breast augmentation, but I don't know what's normal and what's not.... I had mine done Monday, March 21, and today they are the most swollen they have been so far! I had drains put in, and taken out the next day, and then last night I slept just with the sports bra on (I took off the Ace bandage compression in the middle of the night) and slept on my side, which pushed them together. It did hurt a little, but I woke up and my breasts are soooo huge! Not only that, they hurt and feel numb and hot. I WISH I had the drains in now!!!

By the way they look now, I almost wish I never did this! I hope to God they shrink down! I was a very small, deflated B cup starting out, and put in 375 cc's on each side, so you guys PLEASE tell me that they will shrink and be natural! I know that's now huge, but right now they look like F's! Is it normal for swelling to increase after the drains are removed? How long until they start looking normal and stop hurting? Also, I can flex my pec muscle right now and see them move, is this normal??

Seriously it's like SW but for tits... the hot sensation doesn't sound good :/ Usually it means an infection. But I'm no Dr. Check out that site and you will find many answers to many of your questions

The first time I saw my breasts in the mirror after my BA all I could think was "what did I do to myself!?!?". They were huge and swollen and alien and I couldn't believe what I had done to my body. But they got better. Your's will look better soon too, J.D. Don't panic, don't stress yourself out. The swelling will subside. You only had them put in on Monday, the boobs you're seeing now are not the ones you'll end up with. Don't worry your pretty little head prematurely.

My implants move when I use my pec muscles. I believe it's called 'Muscle Flex Deformity'. It's common and yours might go away with time. Mine still happens but I can manipulate the muscles so it's not too bad. Men don't notice - even if I do pole work.

The numbness will probably go away too. I was numb for a few months, but the feeling gradually came back.

Hold up - did the doctor say you could take off the compression bandages? They're to help reduce swelling, I believe.

Did your PS say you can sleep on your side? I wouldnt recommend it, if he didnt.. I slept on my back for a month or so, moved onto my side, now I can sleep on my tummy (Im at 5 months). If it isnt comfy to sleep on the side.. dont!

Did your PS give you anything over the swelling? Mine gave me SinEcch.. and I recommend it! I didnt have any bruising, and minor swelling. I can send you pictures, have one from day 4 and 6 to be exact up to month 3. The numb and hot feeling is normal. Mine were numb for about a full week, I could feel them but it was akward. The incision (crease) was the last thing was numb the longest for almost a month until I got 100% feeling. I had feeling before but it was slow delay.

Dont worry, they will get smaller. You are still swollen.. drink and eat lots of pineapple. Dont use your arm too much and keep your chest and arm muscles relaxed as much as possible. They will get less swollen within a week or so, then still feel tight, hot and numb, all depends on your body. Then fill into the pocket and start dropping and fluffing. I got 325 so they were so high to my neck but dropped and I didnt even noticed untill I looked at my progression pictures for the first month!

Flexing and seeing the muscle move is normal. I would recommend not to do it.. leave your chest muscles relaxed! If you went under, like I did, you will be able to do that at any point of having implats! At 5 months, and I can still do that, and it feels weird and I do it hard enough. My started to look normal around day 20, looked natural at month 2 and from there. Around week 2 and after I could do all the normal things, still wouldnt work out for 6 weeks, or lift anything over 10lbs, nor sleep on my tummy. Go with your body, if it hurts dont do it for a few days and try again!

I was told not to sleep on my side by my two previous surgeons too. Try to sleep on your back for a month. It sucks, but better to be safe.

I also hope you're not flexing on purpose right now. That's a no no. Until you're fully healed.

You have to be super careful with your upper body. Don't lift your arms up for 2 weeks, at least.

    Happy healing

I had to sleep elevated on my back for 6 weeks it was hell. I actually feel uncomfortable now even sometimes on my side. What I find helps is sticking some socks inbetween my boobies so they dont squish as much when Im sleeping. I always wear a bra btw even at night.

The hot feeling I would worry about too much. Its just morning boob. Because you are not moving when you are sleeping the lymph builds up hence the hot and swelling. Did they give you ice packs? They help. I usually woke up 2x a night to replace my ice packs.

My recovery was pretty tough. I followed all the instructions to the last detail though and had strict instructions that didnt allow much for 6 weeks. Once I was moving again it only took a few weeks more to feel normal and now these babies are jiggling around like they were always there. One of mine literally only reached really soft status in the last few weeks and my surgery was last July!

Hang in there. Its gonna suck some days but in the end it will be worth it. I remember I didnt believe my friend when she said that...but its true! And I dont think they will be too big 375cc is not very much compared to what most people get. I would say a lot of the girls on JBI are 400+.

I'm not flexing on purpose, but I was reaching for something, and noticed it. I have been lifting my arms up a little, is it really that bad?

I woke up this morning and they are HUGE compared to yesterday.... I had the drains removed yesterday, so I HOPE this is swelling (what else could it be?)

Right now I feel like my stitches are going to split open, I feel like my breast tissue is sitting on top of the implant, stretched over, but not meshing with it, it's a horrible feeling. I also keep getting sharp deep pains, really worse on one side.

^Just try not to do it if you can avoid it. And yes you will feel the implant from now on when you flex. You get used to it after a while. Some girls get muscle distortion but I dont cause mine are only partial unders. Mine just jump. So soon you can make your boobies dance. hehe

Sounds like mine felt to be honest, but if you are not sure always ring the doc. I harassed my poor surgeon all the time. My husband was like "You paid the guy $10K...you can call him as much as you damn well please". It probably is just swelling after having the drains out and they wont feel the same pretty much ever. Remember its two different surgeries with 2 different boobs and 2 different sides of your chest wall. They arent going to heal at the same rate or always feel the same.

I was still in pretty bad pain on day 4. I took pain killers for 10 days which apparently is not the norm, but again if you are really concerned called the PS. At least then you will have piece of mind. Its hard at the start every little new feeling is scary and you think something is going wrong, but eventually you get used to knowing what is normal and whats not. Are you supposed to be in a compression bra right now? I felt better when my were all squished in. Feels tight but I donno just felt less strange to me at the time.

From what i've been told from my ps it is risky. The implant can shift out of place(depending how you got them done). I just wouldn't lift all the way the first 2 weeks.

My last surgery, I looked like a t-rex dinosaur grabbing things. lol.

the swelling and 'deformity' are actually 'normal' for a girl who got sizeable implants placed under the muscle. As hard as this may actually be, don't pay much attention to the size or shape for at least the first two weeks !!!

As to thoughts that 375cc was 'too big' ... trust me on this ... three months from now you'll be wishing you went with 500's !

However, 'hot' sensations or sharp pains that persist beyond the first few days post-op ARE reason for potential concern. When is your next post-op checkup scheduled ?

Also when I lean over almost upside down, my implant on the left starts to move up, and it hurts REALLY bad! I wonder what this is?

^Not sure. But keep in mind your implants are new and haven't settled. I wouldn't move around a lot until you've healed a big more, just be to safe.

Ask your doctor, but don't strain your body too much.

Could be bruising! Try not to lift your arms or twist your body too much. If you get a fever go to the doctor ASAP or the hospital. Gl on the appointment today

^LOL so true... I seriously barely moved a finger for the first 2 weeks. Just take it easy JD. Things are going to take a while to settle. If you move too much you could cause swelling. Dont forget the entire inside is a a wound... not just the incision.
