I don't really wanna dance anymore. I was thinking of getting a job as a cocktail waitress at a sc. One I've never danced at. Do I tell them I used to dance when I fill out the application? What were ur experiences cocktailing in sc?

You may as well tell them you've danced. It'll show that you know how strip clubs work and will probably be good at hustling customers to get drinks.
Usually dancer to cocktail happens when a girl gets pregnant, or gains weight. Its pretty common. Not saying it applies to you.
Why not approach your current manager with the idea?
No I'm just trying to transition out of the business and gain some work experience. My manager wouldn't want me to not dance but I don't wanna dO it anymore

Yeah, I think telling them you've danced would probably help you get the job, although they might just try to turn you back into a dancer (that's how it was when I waitressed). If you're trying to get out of the business, honestly I think you'd be better off waitressing somewhere else, like a regular night club. Then you can gain experience that can go on your resume and help you find better jobs in the future.

i started that way. it was great. could definitely be hard work, and it certainly is less money than dancing, but it's worth it.
i will say though, i worked at a club that was tiny and we had assigned sections, so there was no competing for customers.
get good at knowing the regulars and what they drink and it will pay off. Also, if they do not have a uniform (mine did not) wear something very sexy but NOT dancer clothes. I made extra tips just because i was the only one at my club who wore heels and sexy clothes to waitress in (and no, my feet were not killing me at the end of the night. i am a freak, heels dont hurt me).
I would tell them, but make it clear you are not looking to dance.

I say you should go for it...and be honest about your past experience as a dancer. Most sc managers will understand why you are no longer interested in dancing, but will appreciate your knowledge of the business. I'm guessing that you could bring some of your regulars their way? That would be something to offer...plus, once you get the job you could hook them up with dancers there. They will tip you out for it and the club will make more money...it's a winning situation for everyone.
