Default Travling 3 Hours to dance?

Ok im left with a bit of a problem.
I really want to dance at a certain club,
Its VERY high contact (not meaning extras)
But very touchy , BUT its in a nice location
and i have been recommended to work here by numerousness girls.
They say they average 500 a night, But im not expecting that much being newer
but hoping to build to that.
I think the thing i like most about it is its in a large town , But not the city, Just a town , so the safety might be better for someone new.

Anywho , the club is a GOOD 3 hours from here, a REALLY easy drive through Country paths till you get to the large town , but never the less a drive.
I was thinking of renting a Hotel for a month , just to see if the club is all its made out tobe and build my savings to move down there , But they probably wont work me very much , 3 full shifts a week is what im hoping for, (7-2) So the extra days in the Hotel arnt necessary , so i thought i could just rent a hotel for the 3 days a week? And go home the rest?

Any suggestions from anyone , Maybe whos had to drive lengthy distances to work? Should i ask them if i can do 3 days in a row?

Are there no other clubs in your area? That does not sound worth it at all to me.

I use to drive 90 minutes each way (wasn't fun and got old quick). I think it is worth a try to ask if you could work 3 days in a row due to your long drive and just stay in a hotel. If you plan on working 4-5 days researching places that have weekly rates might be better for days to rest before and after your work week.

Sadly there are no other clubs! =[[[
Hehe the only close one , is 30m away , and is
    HORRIBLE!
Very very low class, girls offering extras in the main room
leaky ceilings , and there only 7 girls who work there all together.
its AWFUL haha. Im weiry about the drive , But if all goes well , i can save up
in the month i work there , enough to move there.

I work 3 nights a week almost 300 miles away from home. Its worthwhile to me but I average more than 500 a night. I stay at hotels motels or hostels. Id say try to stay at a hostel to save money. U share a room fullof bunk beds with other girls and they have lockers to store your stuff. If you're serious about moving, go for it

I would try a couple nights! Three hours is the EXACT commute I did for most of 2010 ! I would work 2-3 nights a week always in a row and stay in the town with the strip club during that time. Don't even THINK about not staying your last night either. So risky! At one club , I met my dancer friend and she traveled with me half the time ( I did about 50% of the trips with her, 50% alone ).

^^^ I spent several years making much longer drives to work at out-of-state clubs. I generally drove out very early on a tuesday, checked into my relatively cheap room at least 3 hours before I was expected to be at the club to get 'set up' for the week. I would then work tuesday through saturday night and drive back on sunday afternoon. On mondays I would deal with all of the 'necessaries' on the home front.

From a financial standpoint, given that the IRS allows mileage, travel and accomodation expense tax deductions ONLY if you stay overnight and ONLY if you are staying / working 100+ miles away from 'home', even back when gas was $1.50-$2.00 a gallon it always 'paid' better in the long run to minimize the driving in favor of staying overnight. This was even more true once I developed my 'negotiating' skills with hotel managers to talk them into offering a discount 'weekly' room rate, and developing my own 'cooking in the room' skills to avoid having to pay for restaurant meals ! Essentially, given typical dancer tax rates, being able to deduct these business expenses amounts to 1/3rd of the 'bill' being paid for by the IRS instead of coming out of your own pocket.

Early on in my dancing career I did have a few occasions where I could work in clubs that were in the 100-150 mile range of home such that I could make a 2-2.5 hour drive to and from those clubs every day. However, between not being able to deduct the cost of gasoline etc., and developing a personal 'energy shortage' once the most lucrative friday and saturday nights rolled around ( after spending 4-5 hours a day driving plus 8 hours a night working earlier in the week ) that cut into my potential earnings, I quickly gave up this approach. Another factor in giving up this approach was that 'commuting' 1000+ miles per week very quickly takes it's toll on your vehicle i.e. having to buy a new set of $500 tires every 3-4 months, and having to eat a $1000+ auto repair bill every 3-4 months for brakes or something, also cuts deeply into net earnings !!! Of course, since these auto costs don't show up immediately, it's all to easy to ignore the fact that they are consuming some $100 per week, on the average, out of your net earnings ( and that's not counting depreciation in resale / trade-in value as your vehicle racks up major mileage ).

Your 3 day a week 'experiment' will allow you to test the proverbial 'waters'. However, from personal experience, I think that you'll discover that you'll be better off in the long run by travelling and working 5 days a week for three weeks, followed by taking the entire 4th week off to 'recuperate' - as opposed to travelling and working 3 days a week every single week. The reason for this is that living and working out of a hotel room does tend to breed bad habits where diet, workouts, and stress management are concerned !

Every summer I drive 2 hours away to a club. I always work Thursday- Sunday and come back either Monday or Sunday. The club closed at midnight on Sunday.

My mom was in the hospital one time so I drove home every night that week, and it got old fast.
If you make that kind of money I say do it. I was not making any money in st. Louis and I was leaving that hour drive with at least 900-1500 after expenses and depending on a few factors, where as in st. Louis I was making 150 a day if I was lucky.

^^^ if you're going to be returning to the same out-of-town club over and over again, I've actually found that direct negotiations with local hotel managers has yielded the best results. The reason for this is that if someone books indirectly via Expedia or Orbitz, or even when someone books semi-directly via the hotel's national reservation service, the local hotel manager does not know that the person doing the booking offers the possibility of 'regular' future business.

When I was still doing a lot of road work, which involved returning to the same clubs and surrounding hotels a few times per year, by negotiating directly with the local hotel manager I was often able to get deeply discounted 'weekly' rates. This didn't always work i.e. it seldom worked in 'tourist' cities or 'corporate' cities where overall hotel bookings were high thus local hotels seldom had to deal with empty rooms producing zero revenue. However, in many cities where either weekday bookings were scant due to few business travellers, or where weekend bookings were scant due to few tourists, the local hotel manager was usually willing to negotiate on rates for a 5 night stay.

HOTEL WISE i would say book through one of those sites for a week maybe. It will be cheaper, but while you are there drive around and see if you can find a cheaper room.
Ask the girls at your club about cheaper places to stay.
When I fisrt started traveling I was paying 100 bucks a night. After talking to people and driving around I managed to find a nice hotel/apartment for 30-40 bucks a night. They didn't have wi-fi that was all.
