Duh ..okay! so what all did u do..

these are for dancers who (of course) went thru all of this ^_^
    ..what all did u do?:

did u walk into the club and do interview/audition same day?
what did u have to do during audition?
did u get hired on the spot?
do u have to sign irs forms like other jobs?
give personal info like real name, ssecurity, address, phone number?
do they ask u what ur sched would like to be?

    on ur first night:

do u get a tour or something of the club and locker room? :-P hahaha
do they make u pay house fees upfront/tip out to dj, bouncer, etc your first nite??
how many hours did u do the first nite?
how were the other strippers like towards u?
how much money did u make the first nite??

    thank u in advance!! ^_^

The past two clubs I worked at, I just showed up right when day shift was starting and asked if they were hiring. The manager looked me over and hired me on the spot and I started right away both times. The first cub made me sign a contract (they also photocopies two pieces of ID and took my address and phone number), and the second said I would have to, but then never got around to giving me any forms to sign. Neither club had set schedules, so they just told me the hours and shift rules (ex. minimum 5 hours). I got a tour of both clubs which included the dressing room and dance room, and I paid my fees at both clubs up front. I worked around the minimum (5 hours) on both first nights, maybe a bit longer, and most of the girls tended to keep to themselves, though none were out right cold to me. All of this stuff greatly varies by club, so I would recommend posting your area or the club you're interested in working at if you're comfortable to get more relevant information.

I really like Onyx.. if I lived in Atlanta I'd work there... I'm thick too so I know what you mean... most "white" clubs want their black girls to be slim.. I was 5'5 180 but in the midst of dancing and eating better I'm 170 ... I actually fell down to 165 but went on a cruise 3 weeks ago and ate those 5 lbs right back up lol... When you start dancing you'll slim down... plus the benefits of those fabulous platform shoes are that they slim you right out, lift your butt and make ur legs look long and you look lean... I saw one of your threads about the waist cincher... hilariously enough I'm about to pick up a couple because I have the worst pregnancy stretch marks ever and i have to CAKE on Dermablend before work and that's about 25 minutes of my getting ready process so if I could eliminate that I'd be good... good luck! Does strokers still have amateur night on Wednesdays?

No i've never worked in ATL clubs but I have some close friends down there and we always hit the strip clubs... waist cinchers are smaller than corsets so they are easier to move in & I only worry about pole tricks that require my side for the grip

My first club (where I usually work) I walked in, had some champagne, was taken into the VIP and asked to get naked so they could take a look. It was all rather unprofessional really, they got some stripper heels for me from one of the dancers and put me up on stage without really explaining anything to me. but thats what you get for making a split decision on a drunken night out to become a dancer. It was a few days before I actually read the menu and workedout what I was supposed to be doing. There's no house fees here, we got €50 a night wage to be there back then, but I don't remember what I did in the way of dances or more money as I was very drunk for the first month. We were paid cash in hand back then too, no legal documentation.

When I went to Paris I emailed photos through and they hired me, I showed up at their office and was taken to the accommodation. Some of the other girls living there helped explain everything and show me the local area, then at the club they gave me a full tour, waved the house fees for the first two nights. Very professional.

In Spain we couldn't find info on the clubs before we got there (we just went on recommendation of other girls and crossedour fingers). Went into 3 clubs on the same street. The first one offered us work, but we turned it down because it looked to empty. The second had too many girls already, the third hired us, showed us around, gave us free shots and we loved it so we started there. It got closed down though so we went up the street to the first club again. They made us go onstage first as an almost post-audition but it was all fine. Passport photocopies were made but we were paid cash there too.

what? im sorry i dont know why ur being a little hasty towards me hah
ive read on THESE forums how people who do the amateur nights are usually skilled strippers trying to make a quick $500-1000 dlrs..
and the newbies are rarely ever hired or even looked at bc the advanced strippers are stealing the show..
im just going by what i READ on here..comments saying that clubs do inside work going by amateur nights to get more money, business etc.

soo i was only passing on clubs who do this particular audition bc i feel itd be a waste of time for me if those things were true..im sorry for having a naive mentality on this stripper things..but i dont think i have an immature mentality.. bc I AM new to this and just learning thru other strippers..soooo

    its what i heard..sorry dear

On my very first time dancing I walked in and they had me go into a room to change. They looked me over and said yes and told me to start the next day on the afternoon. They showed me around, introduced me to other dancers, then told me the rules. The other dancers were generally decent to me. I only had to tip the DJ the first day and no other house fees. I didn't make much at all, something like $12 because I didn't know how to hustle. Eventually I learned. They didn't ask me for my tax info at all nor did they ask for my real name.

If you take issue with having to actually dance and get naked for an audition...then maybe you should pick a different career.
My personal experience is the clubs that required me to audition were better clubs to dance at. The ones that hired me on the spot without an audition or even an interview (where I wear an outfit and they look at my body)tended to be lower class clubs.

Yes OP, the amateur nights tend to be professional dancers, but that doesn't always mean you'll be hired or not. I've seen dancers win first and not hired and other dancers who didn't place who were hired. Yes, because you are black you will probably have a harder time getting hired. It's not fair but it's life in clubs. If you are a fatter black girl you probably won't be hired at a good club, especially if your fat isn't in your butt or hips.

um im little confused about ur last statement..haha
the club i was talking about earlier with the amateur night audition IS an urban "black" club..with nothing BUT blk girls..so im confused by why do u think i wouldnt get hired bc im black?
and urban strip clubs embrace thicker blk women.(hate the word "fat" describing a woman)..thats why us much thicker blk women always lean towards them

    but anyways..thanks for ur survey!

I use thicker for girls who are normal weight but maybe have a bigger butt (like Jennifer Lopez for example) but too often thick means fat and no they aren't the same thing. In my opinion truly fat girls (like say someone like Monique or Rosie O'Donnell) doesn't belong in any club. They aren't thick they are fat.

I thought you were talking about going to an upscale gown club and those are very hard to get in for many girls black or white, but lots of discrimination towards black girls (which isn't fair). However black clubs do tend to be more open to all bodytypes but they don't often have the highest spending customers.

ohhh okay yeah i see what u mean..thanks for clearing that up..Rosie O Donnell haha
i dont think i could get into a upscale gown club anyways bc i have 9 piercings and about 25 tatts (my whole arm is full sleeve) so im expecting to be placed in the "mid-scale" clubs haha

and yeah usually urban clubs have cheapy customers but ALOT of them come in..lol so i guess it works out..

Our amateur night was like Bring on the Men's club but since I was the only one who showed up it was pointless... It gave me the opportunity to dance in front of a few customers & to see how I felt (sexy, nervous, etc.) I danced 2 songs while most girls dance 3 and I made stage tips... it was enough to hook me!...
