I generally am pretty sore the day after I do a lot of pole practicing, it helps to stretch and really warm up before hand. You might want to try some back strengthening excersises? This lady has some great videos, this one in particular is about back excersises: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kc64kROoDE
When I first started doing pole stuff I would be sore the next day, but I've never had serious or consistant back pain from it.
It could be you're not doing the move right, in which case a pole class might help you.
You also might need to build some strength up.
If it's really hurting though, beyond normal work-out soreness, I would reccomend taking it easy for a few days and let your body recover.

I had the same thing whenever I did inverts. It was a rib popping out. Hence I no longer do pole. I went to a chiro and it did help, but Im dont compete or anything and doing pole tricks had no impact on my earnings. I mostly did it to entertain myself so Im happy to not have chronic rib pain anymore.

^ wasnt kicking at allI think its just cause I naturally have no stupid muscle or fat around my ribs. Its really weird. As in no matter how fat or muscular I am you can see every rib in my back and chest. I think I need to transplant some quad onto my back ahaahaha.
