***Please note: OK, I'm writing this a bit on the fly. I've spent a lot of last night and today compiling a list of useful online resources which go into extensive detail in a few different categories I'd like to touch on.
This post is written for those camgirls/models/strippers/actors/writers, etc who want to increase their exposure. And those ready, or soon-to-be ready, to launch their online career (or boost it) and develop a brand name.***
I'm still learning as I go along. So, ladies, feel free to chime in, revise, agree/disagree or what have you with what I am presenting below.
I plan to expand more open each one in later posts. I juuuust finished typing up a bunch of hand-written notes from when my internet went down late in the afternoon yesterday. Here is a somewhat abridged version of one of the potentially very valuable gems I discovered:
On the Importance of Press Kits and Professional Queries
On http://www.murdermustadvertise.com/index.html, I was actually reading about ways to promote an e-book I'm working on, but the light bulb shined so brightly when I realized, while reading, how a lot of the information on the site can also be used directly and indirectly for aspiring web star brands such as ourselves.
One topic in particular, that I found useful is about creating your own press kits.
Why develop a press kit?
Well, they help in "securing broadcast interviews, newspaper and magazine features, chats, and.....other appearances."
I have been on Playboy Radio quite a few times in the past year, and, luckily, I did not need to use a press kit for these appearances.
I DO, however, plan on using press kits for soliciting magazine interviews, radio and other forms of multimedia broadcasting and have begun to implement this strategy in my current and future projects.
This mindset will ultimately be more likely to increase receptivity and (hopefully) mass appeal. If you want to make serious money and have your brand be taken seriously, it should be submitted in a fashion similar to those sent by major media public relations firms.
Granted, there are plenty of online stations and media outlets which require much less formal methods of submitting one's brand. Yet, if you want to go for the big dogs in media, you should present yourself as you would if you were "already" in the big leagues.
If nothing else, you may get a small mention or appear as a co-host/guest for a quick two minute spot. But getting your message and 'product' out to the number of eyes and ears that the mega-media conglomerates have is worth its weight in gold.
And, best of all, it's free(ish, depending on marketing costs) and sometimes even PAID. If not immediately, it most definitely will indirectly as a certain percentage of those viewers/readers/listeners will want to know more. And a percentage of those may be other valuable media outlets who want to jump on what's "hot."
No matter what, establishing a sense of professionalism and credibility presents you in the best light possible.
So, "adult" or not, another point worth considering is whether your brand can be marketed in a way that is mainstream enough for certain segments of the population. This will depend, at least in part, on what else you can bring to the table, other than your stunning good looks, hot bod, or top cam score.
The best way to approach both adult and mainstream media is to have some sort of novelty or niche item to promote.
Alternatively, while sifting through different creativr strategies to integrate into your platform, you can 'cross promote' by promoting one of your most marketable, recognizable partners, social media sites (Twitter, anyone?)affiliates (Amazon? Google?), etc...
This could also include a mention of one of your major major money-making webcam sites, merchant credit card processors, your favorite photographers, lingerie/clothing websites, your site host/domain registrar (WordPress, GoDaddy, et al...).

OK...before I go on.....is this interesting enough to the ladies here? I'm seriously just sort of in "super-stream-of-consciousness" mode and I feel like I'm giving my own self a pep talk.
Feel free to let me know it's all good, but "No, thank you!!!"if this is overkill. I'll be sad for a minute, but I'm still so glad I wrote this out while I'm feeling so inspired and I hope this helps some aspiring ladies (webutantes?) here, too....
Cheers,
london
