Was wondering if I were to cut my hydrocodones in half, would they work faster or is it dangerous?? I read somewhere that it was. Has anyone else heard of this?? I just figured they'd dissolve in my stomach and relieve my pain faster.

I think it depends on the type of pill. I've cut hydrocodones in half and nothing has ever happened to me. It does work faster but it seems like it also wear off faster for me.
How many mgs are you getting per pill?
I had hydrocodones (lortab) 10mg per pill... My PS suggested that I break them in half when I take them as they will be pretty strong. I did that and slept like a baby for a week straight, felt no pain. But the relaxors helped a great deal.. I took 2x more then the bottle said, but I was fine and took them when I felt tension.. 2 a day didnt cut it. The hydrocodones I only took 1 full per day (split for morning and night) for the first 3 days.
If you want them to work faster, I suggest take it with an orange juice (or any juice that has acid properties). Take one when you know you will feel the pain coming up, it usually takes 20-30mins for it to kick in. I do suggest breaking it half, but dont not crush it or bite it. But this med, is not a timed release drug that has coating or anything similar to it, so it would not make any difference whether you split it or not... Just depends how much pain you are in.
I heard that it was dangerous to cut them in half and then take both halves, because you absorb more of the drug faster that way and taking both halves would be too much.
But I heard this in my middle school sex ed/drug awareness class, so I don't know how accurate it is...
