Default I got fired without being given a reason!

I was told that the owner decided not to renew my contract. As if there was an expiration date? I was never told of any expiration date for my contract or that I need to engage in some sort of contract negotiations on a certain day. I have never had anything like this happen before.
The worst I have ever dealt with was when a couple of bouncers were trying to pimp me out. They tried to make feel bad about my dancing by saying that I may as well be in Parump prostituting with the way I danced. Pimps are obviously known for bullying and trying to make girls feel like they are no good and have no other choices. That club was known for girls allowing guys to grab their boobs and more for $20. I would not allow it. I made it clear to the bouncers that I was not interested in prostituting. I guess they thought because I act dumb because it is my job, that I was actually dumb enough to allow my self to be pimped by some sleezy bouncers for $20. No one at the club I was just fired from ever tried anything like that.
Years ago the economy was better and when I got fired for not allowing myself to be pimped I just let it go and got another job the same day. And it was a much nicer club too.
I don't understand why I was fired. I am polite. I have guys tell me that I'm hot. They don't have to say that. I also have guys that say I have a good body. Not every single guy and not 10 times a shift or more... but I do get compliments from guys on having a good body. I get compliments on my boobs even from female custys. I know I'm not perfect and there are girls who are in much better shape and better looking... but I do get compliments. I even get a lot of compliments on my personality.

As much as it sucks, do you *really* want to work for a club where the bouncers try and pimp out the girls and management fires people for no legitimate reason? Think of this as a blessing in disguise and find greener pastures at a different club.

if that's been expected of you, you probably got fired for not being a ho. obviously they won't actually tell you so.

and there was no contract to renew. that's retarded. they just say shit like that to mindfuck you

sorry I did not make my self clear. The club that had the bouncers that tried to pimp me out happened years ago. The club that just fired me with out giving a reason is a different club.
Most of the clubs out here are owned by the same group of people which really sucks. I can't afford all of the time and liscensing for another line of work right now. Plus my chances of finding any job at all, are very low.We have the highest unemployment in the country. I need money for rent. This was so unexpected. I had to spend what I made last night on groceries and gas.
I paid $300 for my business liscence in order to be a stripper so obviously I will apply to other clubs. I called one of the managers today and he said he would talk to the other manager who fired me. I have seen that manager at other clubs. I have never talked to him. He always seems really grouchy. I don't think I have seen him smile once. At first I was told that it was the owner who made the decision. Maybe that manager is part owner. Who knows. I have talked to the owner and his girlfriend more than once. I even danced for his friend a few times. I thought that was the only owner. I am completely confused.
As for girls prostituting in the club. The cops started cracking down really heavy about a year and a half ago on the dancers. It was after they passed a law making it so the managers and owners have no responsiblity what so ever for for anything that happens in the club. It used to be that the club would get fined and the manager would go to jail for pimping and pandering. It sounds like a way to put a lot of non powerful single mothers in jail and not piss off the super rich people to me.
I know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I realize that managers and owners can't be responsible for some super wacky crack hos. (I have see some of those girls in action.) I believe in personal responsibility and don't want to compete with girls who tell custys they will do anything in VIP. Why - because that will cut into my sales.
I am just upset because this is the first time I have been fired with out being given a specific and legit reason. I have had jobs where I was not a good fit before. I am ok with that.. but of course that is something that you know pretty quickly. This was totally unexpected.
I have said that I would be happy to talk to this guy about anything that he feels needs improvement. I put a lot of time into working towards my long term goals and not a lot of hours at the club. I thought that was allowed because we are independent contractors. But again I have no idea why I was fired. It would be nice to at least be told.

Thanks. I am not saying that I am perfect. Far from it. But I do get compliments from custys on my looks and personality on a regular basis.
I would like to stay at the club that just fired me because I like the club. It's upsetting to get fired from a club that you like without even being given a reason.

No I was not just fired from the Rhino. And yes John is known for that. I have had some friends tell me about stories like that from other clubs too. It is just so shocking because I had no idea this was coming. I don't know of many clubs out here that I really want to work at. Only a handful. Even though there are a lot of clubs.
I'm going to try one of the clubs that I used to work at tonight. I am also going to see about getting all of my liscencing for bartending again. But obviously it will take timeand money to get my licensing and review my skills in order to get a bartending job. I am going to see how much it is for a review class for my old bartending school. Or I might even try to get a job doing temp work again and just do this part time. This really woke me up.
I have to have some warning. My bills are very stable and they don't just disappear out of the blue, same with rent.

I got another job last night. Thanks for the support. I can't believe the run around. They tell me to call back over and over. Every time I do it's the same answer. I did not talk to the guy who fired you yet - call back again. It's ridiculous.

I was polite to everyone. People always commmented on how I smiled so much and always seemed so happy. We don't have a schedules out here because we are independent contractors. No one ever said anything about working on certain days or working a certain amout of days. I always went in early- at the opening time of the club. I usually stayed for well over the 6 hour minimum. In the 4 months that I worked there, I only missed one full week. The reason I was shocked was because I could not think of a reason why I should have been fired. I got a job at another club so I'm ok. It was just very shocking.

BOTM - Was the girl who got fired told that she should not spend "x amount of time" in the dressing room or that she needed to be more polite, or that she needed to work on certain days? I think being polite should be a common sense issue, but sometimes there can be misunderstandings between people.

That coke addict is notorious for firing girls even if they give in to his sexual favors. I think when he fires a girl for no reason, its after he's sober.

I'll throw out a possible explanation for why such dancer firings for 'no reason' are happening ... with increasing frequency. But you, and many other dancers, aren't going to like it.

From the club manager's standpoint, he is running a business. Thus his primary focus is on dollars flowing into the club's pocket versus dollars flowing out. Rising property taxes, rising utility bills, rising insurance costs, etc. are all adding to dollars flowing out.

In regard to dollars flowing in, this includes door cover charges, drink sales profits etc. which are basically independent of anything a dancer may do. But the club's 'cut' from private dance / VIP / CR sales are dollars flowing in where a dancer contributes in a major way ... i.e. the more private dances / VIP's / CR's she sells, the more dollars flow into the club's pocket.

As the poor economy persists, many customers are coming to expect high contact and 'extras' in exchange for their more scarce 'discretionary spending' dollars. In many cases, this means that many customers are no longer willing to pay for private dances / VIP's / CR's unless high contact and 'extras' are part of the deal. And between 'word of mouth' communication between club customers, strip club review website postings, etc. it's now fairly likely that some club customers are going to be able to find out which dancers will offer high contact and 'extras', versus which dancers won't, without having to 'invest' any of their own money to find out for themselves.

Back to the club manager's mindset. Basically he has X number of 'slots' for dancers. Filling those limited number of dancer 'slots' with clean dancers produces far less dollars for the club than filling those limited number of dancer 'slots' with other dancers who are willing to offer high contact and 'extras' ... because the clean dancers probably aren't capable of generating an equal number of private dance / VIP / CR sales as the dancers who offer 'extras'. This difference in dollars generated for the club might boil down to a couple of hundred dollars per dancer per shift.

Since the club manager / club owner don't really face any legal risk if 'extras' are offered ( essentially all of the risk falls upon the dancers ), from a purely economic standpoint this boils down to club managers increasingly viewing clean dancers as a 'liability'. From a cold cash club manager viewpoint, continuing to employ a clean dancer versus replacing her with an 'extras' dancer is 'costing' the club a couple of hundred dollars worth of lost potential club income per night in the form of additional private dances / VIP's / CR's that an 'extras' dancer would be able to generate.

From the same cold cash club manager viewpoint, a dancer being 'hot' or 'polite' or 'punctual' are arguably far less important than the dancer's actual ability to generate private dance / VIP / CR sales from which the club receives a 'cut'. However, they may serve as an 'excuse' for a club manager who wishes to get rid of a clean dancer to make room for another high contact / 'extras' dancer.
