    Default Customer appearance?

I'm curious to know what a girl looks for in a customer on first sight? I mean visual cues as to whether she thinks he's a good mark, not whether the guy is teh hawttt!

Style of dress, jewelry/lack of, grooming, that sort of thing. Do you prefer suits and such, or loud Hawaiian shirts?

Or are prison overalls and steel bracelets more your thing?

Is he drinking the cheapest beer at the club or spending? Just dress normal. Don't overdo it or underdo it. Wear what you normally would (unless you normally wear sweatpants). Don't flash your money around... people who like to show off their money rarely let go of it and the girls know this. Oh, for god's sakes, shower. Put on a little cologne, but not too much.

As long as you're not disgusting, they'll be happy to take your money. And even if you are disgusting, they'll still pretend you're hot and be willing to take your money.

Heh, I assume all dancers think of customers as revolting pigs with wallets, and so when I click with one who hides it well, I'm appropriately grateful and interested.

My first targets were always 35 and up, caucasian, well dressed, by themselves, and drinking something I could identify as moderately priced and up. After that, I definitely had an order of approach for men not fitting into that category, but who doesn't? I also never approached anyone who appeared under 30, black guys (never had a positive experience with one), or men I found attractive.

    1. Age. (pref 30-50 age group) 2. Hygiene (need to clean) so many greasy guys at SCs 3. Appearance (what style they have, type of watch, shoes) - level of $ 4. What they were doing in the past time they were there and drinking.

This is all before I speak with them.

I only see customers by the money they are handing me so if they want me to notice don't flash your amex black at me or wear an impressive goody watch to the club I'm not impressed or into typing my customers as marks. I don't work that way as it doesn't work to pay my bills to be looking at these things.

No hand me cash & lots of it then I might remember you, but other then the face on their bills I honestly care less they do all look like revolting pigs with wallets to me ...(except when the are hott, but even then money 1st looks second becuz I'm woking ) If you are buying my affections I will treat you like the most attractive thing that walks the planet so long as you are the 1 paying me the most to do so really as simple as that it's all an act like any1 else who works customer service or public relations puts on for the highest bidders.
    '
If your broke & don't tip me well then you will find out real quick my honest opinion if you proceed to ask me for my attention or try to hollar at me & it won't be nice no matter what a stud you think you might be as chases are I don't feel that way as at work my idea of a good looking customer is 1 that at least buys dances from me.

I judge people by behaviour not looks. The grungiest guy in the club could have the thousand dollars I want to make that night on him. All he needs is someone to treat him well and it's theirs. Likewise, the guy in the suit could be the cheapest bastard known to man and is just there to drink his one drink and see as many naked girls as he can before he gets kicked out for not spending. I never underestimate anyone. EVER.

Love this post. I used to work and live in San Francisco at the height of the tech boom. The scruffy guy in the faded t-shirt and jeans could be a broke student... or a multi-millionaire programmer. Friend of mine who looked that way was treated like a hobo when he went browsing in a Mercedes dealership. No biggie to him, he just went and bought a Porsche.

I tend to avoid the suits. Also anyone with flashy jewelry and trendy overpriced shoes. The minute they flash money or inform me of how much they are going to spend, I'm done with them.

Hmmm - this is a little unusual IME - may I ask why?

Because more than half the time they're fronting and they're not actually going to spend any of it. The guys that want to spend their money do it quietly. They don't need to flash their hundreds or make it rain, and they'll still be spending plenty.

I understand steering clear of the flashy stuff, but is simply being suited enough to drive away some? I'm interested in thoughts on this as I am usually suited in the clubs.

    Exactly. ^

A lot of them also seem to have the "I don't need to pay" type of attitude that I absolutely hate. Like they are god's gift to women and that I should be honored just to be in their presence. Um, no thanks. I prefer those who will spend quietly on me and not have to attract the attention of everyone else.

I've dated a few rich men here and there, and it seems like the more money they had the more casual they dressed. One in particular was a green real estate developer and had millions. He always wore jeans and a tshirt and drove a pick up truck- he didn't want people treating him differently because of his money. Looking at him, you'd never guess he had so much money. This is why, like JayATee said, I don't judge based on customer appearance. At least in the sense that I don't automatically discount those who don't look like they are made of money.

I'll wear a suit if I am coming from somewhere that required me wear one, but I wouldn't dress up specifically to go to a SC. Of course, I tend to go to the smaller, quieter ones off-peak hours anyhow, where there's a chance to flirt and such and the music isn't set to dissolve your bones level loud.

Normally I'll dress smart casual. I kind of think that if a girl actually approaches me, or vice-versa, that what I'm wearing should become irrelevant pretty quick.

As for what I'm drinking (some girls have mentioned they watch this), in a bar like that, it's not really a place for single malts or upscale booze, so I just go with whatever sounds drinkable at that moment. Or if I'm driving, bottled water and either getting drinks for a dancer or just tipping the waitress well enough to overlook my appalling lack of booze.

Attitude, attitude, attitude. That's all I can say. You can wear a suit. You're not instantly discounted because of that, it all depends on your behaviour. Like I've already said...

And honestly the drink thing confuses me. I know a lot of guys who don't drink anything but soda... doesn't mean they aren't spenders.

Well, if I'm coming from a meeting or something where a suit is non-optional, it's still going to be on my back when I get there.

Going home/to hotel just to change out of it would be a little bit more work than I'm willing to put in to see bewbies.

Trust me when I say you don't want to anyway.

I club all over the country and, take my word for it, wearing a nice suit works wonders. No disrespect to the ladies that avoid suits, but IME in many places the look draws a lot of dancer attention over the course of an evening, particularly when you are the only suit in a club full of hungry ladies.

I wouldn't avoid suits per say, but I danced in a majorly tech casual town for most of my tenure. The guy alone, kind of geeky, wearing dockers and a polo shirt would be my best match...even young ones, non-caucasian ones.

Guy in a suit alone keeping low profile is good. 3 obnoxious guys in suits making a spectacle of themselves...tend to be out looking for a party with the party girls....get them drunk, not spend much.

Most of my suits are kind of subtly subversive anyhow. I sometimes have to work that uniform to make a living, but I try to at least have fun with it.

Then again, I also have a collection of awe-inspiringly loud Hawaiian shirts for those perfect summer days. Tacky is wholly acceptable in my book, so long as the person wearing it knows it is. It's the ones who have no idea that you have to watch out for.

The first customers I tend to hit are the ones who are well dressed and clean.
Not for reasons of appearance... but my market seems to be middle aged, well dressed, very vanilla looking men.

I tend to avoid young men in... oh what's that stupid brand all the douchebags wear...? AFFLICTION! That's it! I tend to avoid that type just because more often than not, I'm not what they're looking for.
I normally avoid Hawaiian shirts, too. Every man in a Hawaiian shirt I've danced for has pulled his dick out.

Naturally! When you go Hawaiian, you're usually making a clear statement that you're tacky and have no class. I just like to play off it for reasons known not even to me. In the 90s it was bowling shirts, but that was in homage to a musical hero, Joe Strummer.

If we're ever in the same city, and it's a gorgeous summer day, and I have any idea where you're working or what you look like, and when you're working, and I've got free time, and the stars align, I swear by all that's unholy that I will find you, I will get you to dance, and I will be secretly getting a kick out of you waiting for, and dreading, the moment I'll whip it out. But I won't, and when I leave you'll be all bewildered, but 5-10 dances richer.

Edit: As an aside, I have no idea what AFFLICTION clothing looks like. I am officially old and unhip. But on the bright side, I wear my pants at the hips or waist as God intended, not mid-thigh, so I have that going for me...
