(Yes, I am going to keep starting threads until I run out of curiousity, or someone with a ban-hammer tells me to stop...)
So, guys, what are your usual spending habits, if any, when you hit a club? Is it something you even think about?
Ladies, what do you notice about patterns, if anything?
For my part, I've already mentioned that I typically spend on 5-10 dances, preferably with one girl I hit it off with, plus assorted drinks and covers and tips.
I also take it as a given that, even if I don't find that girl, I'm dropping at least $50 for being on the premises, be it drinks, pity dances, whatever. The money's gone before I open the door, I just haven't gotten it out of my wallet yet.
What about tipping staff? Here covers are usually $2, and I'll give $5, adjust accordingly for higher numbers, and for waitresses drinks (bottled water if I'm driving, misc. bewze if not -- I don't look to buy my usual single malts or whatever in the clubs I hang out in between $6-8 and I'll just pay $10 regardless. I spend enough time as a waiter and bartender when young that a $2-4 tip on a drink is in no way over-tipping, though from what I've observed a dollar tip on a $6 bottle of Molson or Labatt beer (the Quebec SC beverage of choice it seems) is the norm. If the waitress(es) and/or barmaid have been friendly and accommodating I'll leave a final tip of a drink or two's cost on my way out.
I'm hardly Frank Sinatra, but I assume a certain overhead when hitting any bar when it comes to tips.
As I've also mentioned, stage tipping simply doesn't seem to be done here, unless by imported and inebriated tour bus loads of American college kids with singles to spend. Girls don't seem to expect it at all either, and I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen it done. Which explains why dancers here seem to enjoy stage time about as much as a visit to the dentist, if the club is busy and they could be hustling dances.
Guys? Ladies?
