Default How much does it cost you to work?

I've worked at different clubs all over the country and my outgoings at each place varied dramatically. It got me wondering, how much does it cost you to work? How out of pocket are you when you first hit the floor? How many dances until you've turned a profit?

Currently I work at a dive joint with a 50/50 split, there are no house fees and we keep all tips. I take the bus to work, pack my own lunch/dinner and catch a $25 cab home. I probably spend $60 per fortnight on makeup & general supplies (eyelashes, snacks, new stockings, baby wipes, music) and try and keep my work related outgoings to a minimum. I work an average of 3 shifts per week, my cost per shift is probably $40. It takes me my first 2 dances to make that back.

At the most upscale club I worked at I'd pay up to $100 in house fees, VIP dances were a 60/40 split (dancer/house) and 10% was taken from all funny money. I'd get a cab to and from work ($25 each way), a blow dry at the salon every second shift ($40), mani & pedi each week ($60) and probably spent $100 per week on makeup & general supplies. Working an average of 4 shifts per week, my cost per shift was probably about $210. This really didn't seem excessive to me at the time as my earnings justified the expense, however I always did feel a little anxious until I'd at least made that money back. It would take about 4 standard dances to start making a profit.

    You?

My tip out is 40 $ dj 10-20 $ depends to my nite. Cab fare 20$ .I dont have to spend money for make up every week cause i do wear my make up on my own and whatever i buy last longer than couple months.I do style my hair every shift. I only have 70-80 $ expenses.

Sometimes i spend money for outfits but this is not sometin i always do for every shift. Every 6 months i go hair stylist for coloring my hair. I have natural brown hair and color my hair same tones.i dont get my nails done...or mani-pedi. So i spend some money to body sprays, baby wipes, razors.Generally i start makin profit after 3-4 dances...

It usually costs me around $40 to work, one club I worked at was $20 house fee (with tip) and then $20 cab home, another was $40 house fee, $10 cab up to a 24 hr bus, another, $20 house fee, $15 cab home, and the latest, $10 house fee, then $10 out of your dances every time you go to VIP (so usually about $50-60 total) then a $10 cab home, I've been making more at this club though so I don't mind paying more. So usually I'm making a profit after 2-3 dances depending on the club.

My club has a 25$ DJ fee (I always tip an extra 5$ on that though) and a 2$ door fee (I always give them $5), so it costs me 30$ to work. If I'm working a swing shift (4-9, so I work half with the day DJ and half with the night DJ) I will give the night DJ a 5$ at the end of the shift, bringing that up to 35$. With 20$ dances, I'm out of the red by dance 2. Transportation wise, I take the bus and already have a bus pass added on to my tuition payment, so that hardly counts since I'd have it anyway. I never buy food while at work and just bring some snacks, so that cost is minimal. I don't get my hair or nails or anything done and the only make up I wear is mascara, so that cuts down on other expenses as well. Most of my stripper gear came from my freshman closet of slutty clubbing outfits, though I have bought some new things - they are never expensive and the priciest was my $40 shoes. I'm a pretty frugal stripper, I'd say! I like to keep as much of the money I make as possible.

At my last club it was a $60-100 house fee depending on your shift, $5 of EVERY private dance went to the club, the DJ was a minimum 10% tip out of our entire night earnings, then we also were required to tip out the house mom, door girl, bouncer, and valet. Hair and/or makeup was $30 but only if you used them (I did every once in while). They also had theme nights (i.e. school girls, burlesque, etc) and you could get sent home if you didn't have the outfits so I spent a couple hundred on those costumes. Additionally, fake eyelashes, manicures/pedicures were mandatory....we had to "check in" and be approved by management before we went on the floor and you literally could get sent home for not having your nails done. Since some of my costs depended entirely on the shift I was scheduled and how good the night was I would say my minimum cost to work was $100 and probably averaged more like $150 with $200 being on the high side.

My club has 20/40/60 depending on what time you get there.

I arrive in the $40 time frame.

How much does it cost me to work?

    IMO too damn much!

I pay on any day or shift I work a minimum of $235. This is a flat rate that is not negotiable. At times it can be as much as $300 or more.

This payout drastically effects when I go to work. Sometimes, if I'm running late or don't feel up to hustling that day I don't even bother going because I'll probably be shooting myself in the foot considering the overhead I owe when I walk in the door.

I dunno, it might not sound like alot to some people, but the dances are uber cheap where I work and, coincidentally, so are the custys.

Ugh. $40 house before 8pm, $60 after. $20 to not go on stage or to be skipped. and then 20% of total earnings split between manager and dj

House fees for me vary from $15-30 depending on which shift you work. If you're late you can get anywhere between a $5 and $30 late fee. Our topless dancwa are $25 a song (though some girls charge more) and on sun-mon-tues they are 2 for 1 pricing; we owe $5 out of each of these. When it comes to 15 minute rooms, the house gets $30, 30 minutes $60-75 (depends on which drink or room they want) and the hours, I can't really remember offhand, but i think it's $150. We *must* tip out the house mom with a minimum of $5 and when I was hired I was told we had to tip the DJ a minimum of $5 but most girls since have told me they don't. We also have a weekly $10 schedule fee.

Just club fees? They take about 33% of your money. For me thats a minimum of around $100, normally more.

Tip out usually $40-$50 Sometimes $30, occasionally completely free (love those days)

    DJ fee $10

    Train $10-$20

    Cab $12

Couch room $5/$10 to club per dance

Keep all stage and lap tips

    Wow @[email protected] so expensive!

I work at two clubs, both charge a $10 stage fee, but one of them refunds your fee if you finish your shift.

$10-20 for the dj and bartender...that's it. And I was feeling whiny about it this week because I've been working with a bartender I don't like, and didn't want to tip her! Haha.

I have it better than I thought here. Stage fee upfront is between free and $25, $50 after 10 pm. $5 out of every dance goes to club except Sunday. Plus if its merchandise they get $5-20. Dj $10+ depends on what he does for me and which one. Managers$5/10+ depends on which manager it is. At end of nite they give you your dance totals and you payout whatever else you owe.

House Fees are $30; that covers top outs to house mom and dj. Have to tan every shift so $30 a week for that, then general expenses plus cabs home. I usually end up paying around $60-70 a shift I would say.

$5 Tip-Out to Management and thats it. For the earnings that I've made, thats just pennies! If I'm able to sell drinks, Tip-Out is free and I am refunded for the drinks that I've sold.

Weekday dayshifts- $70 to $85 absolute minimum usually

When I work the occasional Sat nite- $150 absolute minimum

But of course I ALWAYS tip out extra the more $ I make. I tip the staff out very well (I even give the guys minimum tipout if I make NO money, I pull it outta my own pocket) and they really take care of me.

(my fees include house fee, tipout, cabfare, etc. btw)

I work at a club here in east Texas! There is a lot of money here because of the oilfield (which is booming right now). The club itself makes a ridiculous amount of money from beer sales ($4 a beer) so we girls are not really pressed for anything such as house fees or percentages.
