    Question Hair might affect money

So soon I will go back to stripping full time 5 days a weeks 11-7, since school is almost out.

I tend to attract white older men but here is the thing... they like me because I look Asian. Mostly everyone I know who first meets me thinks I'm Asian. I have long black hair and I want to try something different I'm tired of my hair I want to dye it beach blonde and cut it like Rhianna but I'm scared this might affect my clientel.

I want to try something different for a change and really want to try a different look but idk.

Has anyone made a drastic change? How did this effect your money?
I want to do this before summer comes

Rihanna style hair doesnt look good on everyone... very risky...of course u can still make money with shorter hair but still u will increase your earning with longer hair.I have some customers have long hair fetish.I have long, medium brown wavy hair.

DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR OFF. It will kill your money. You've got a look, stay with it and as a general rule men dig long hair. Or you can cut it and get some good quality clip in extensions for work, or possibly a high quality wig. My hair was a little below shoulder length, I bought some real human hair clip in extensions that made it down to the middle of my back, and it increased my profit exponentially. Also, since you describe yourself as appearing Asian... Asian sells. It's a stereotype, but it's true. Go with it.

Yeah I haven't seen a girl make money with short hair unless she was black and that's a celebrity lol the couple of girls I know who have short hair are happy to leave with sixty bucks..... plus when I wear my short hair I make shit money, it just makes you look intimidating.

Ain't that the truth? I haven't had a good foot fetish guy in a while. I ought to go find my red polish and use that on my toesies.

I have a chin length black bob with bangs and I do quite well in it with all types of customers but I think that it's because that particular short haircut is considered a rare exception to the rules of what typical men think of as sexy (long hair) because of its long association with liberal, sexy women. When I look at the websites of other clubs (and my club's website too, actually) I almost always see girls with long hair and then one with my hair. I actually make money quite often because so many men (and a lot of women) really love my hair style and will tip me better on stage or approach me to compliment it which saves me from having to do the approaching myself.

HOWEVER I do have clip in extensions and tons of wigs for the nights when no one seems to be into me and they have saved the day for me many, many times, and if I were to dance at an upscale club I'd wear my clip ins for sure.

So ultimately I would say it's your head and if you want a change, go for it, just be aware that short hair will affect your money, often negatively. I really believe that you should be able to look how you want on your own time but definitely get some nice wigs or clip ins to wear when you're at work. I'm all about individuality but when I'm at work I want to get paid, and sometimes I need more hair to do that, so I put it on, just like I'd put a uniform on when I worked at Starbucks. I can be myself when I'm not trying to pry dances out of a difficult room full of guys.

I'm expecting a few short-haired girls to chime in here and say "I don't know what you guys are talking about! I make great money/am a top earner/etc, it's all about personality, etc"

    BUT

I'm sorry, long hair will always make more money, regardless of personality or hustling skills. I do not doubt there are girls out there who do just fine with a short hair but they are few and far between.

I hope I don't get flamed for this, but IMO, short hair is not sexy on most people.

It sounds to me like you have wonderful hair and I would NOT touch that if I were you. I bleached my hair once when it was long and dark like that, and yeah, you're gonna cut it off whether you like it or not, cause it's gonna fry. I really think you will regret it. I have spent many years growing my hair back out from that mess.

Sounds like you might just be bored with your look. We all go through it. There are many things you can do to cure the boredom without doing something like cutting your hair all off. Get some new nails, or new outfits, new makeup, colored contacts......or hell even try a wig!! They make some great lace-front ones now that look very natural.

I'd say don't dramatically go from dark to blonde. If you are pulling asian niche customers then that's your niche. It may be your other features combined with your dark hair. Have you thought of highlights or just plain streaks in warm golden tones? Against jet black they will stand out and look nicer than just bright blonde contrast. If you wanna try short hair, go buy a human hair wig and try it out. See if/how your money changes.

Changing your hair is such a risky thing because unless you've had the style before you never know if you're going to like it. I think to wear short hair you have to KNOW you look damn good with that style and you have to have the confidence to pull it off. I personally wouldn't do it because I love my hair long! I say if you can, then try the style out with a wig or clip in extensions that you can cut into the style you want and put in (with your own hair pulled back) to "test" out the look.

I actually burnt my hair off with a relaxer and had to cut it short. That was four years ago and its has grown back nicely since. I panicked when it happened because of work, however it did not affect my money at work. I'll never forget what a wise older dancer said to me on the topic back then when it happened. She said, "No one's looking at your hair and you have a nice face. Its your hustle that matters the most." She was correct.

If you're making money because your customers think you're asian... cutting/dying your hair will destroy that illusion and you're probably going to lose customers.

MOST girls make more money with long hair.
Money is typically EASIER to make with longer hair.

This is not necessarily ALWAYS the case... but do you really want to risk it?

When I stopped wearing my down-to-the-middle-of-my-back extensions... shaved a mohawk and dyed it bright, bad orangey-blonde (like in my profile pic over hurrr) my income more than doubled.
I literally did not have enough time in the night to do a CR for everyone who wanted one most nights.

    Just sayin.

Agreed... I made zilch with a bob as a redhead and dark brunette. Growing it long was the best decision I ever made. Everyone thought I was half asian when I had dark hair, but I made more money when I went blonde, too, so I'd say don't cut it, but if you're gonna dye, go for a wig first and see how it goes.

I made the mistake of going from blond - which is right for my natural light features - to dark hair. Then I made the mistake of doing a bob above the shoulders. What a disaster. My life went to hell. Now I am back to blond and my hair is below my shoulders. It is not long but I have found that I have to keep it at least one inch past my shoulders.
I have worn wigs in the past and it is a great experiment. I want to get another wig. They can increase your earnings. Guys don't always care about style. They seem to like a cheap slutty look.
If you are going to deviate from your natural coloring be sure to use a wig. I had guys who said they liked my dark hair but they also would say they hated blonds. I felt very insulted since that is my natural coloring. It even affected my personal life. I met guys who hated blonds. The literally would say the word hate. When they saw my blond lashes and eyebrows without my makeup they seemed to be disappointed. It took so much money and years to get the black die out of my hair. Now when I meet a guy in real life or at work at least I don't worry about being insulted for the real me.
ALWAYS ALWAYS get a wig if you want to experiment with short hair.

I know that there are girls out there who bank with mohawks/pixie cuts/bobs whatever. I've worked with a few. We have a girl at my club who has a fire-engine red pixie cut and makes good but she has a very limited customer base. It's often a feast-or famine situation for her, because if her "type" isn't in the club one night, she has a hard time selling to customers outside of her usual.

I just think that having long hair, you will appeal to a broader range of customers, that is all. And in the OP's case, she seems to have a head of beautiful long hair and has never done something drastic like cut it all off and bleach it, so in this case, I (and abviously alot of other here) are advising against it.

Oh I guess we're editing posts now. Since your post originally said "I'm not arguing on the internet"... my response doesn't make no sense. So I'm going to go ahead and delete away.
Sorry you can't handle someone telling you your generic statement was incorrect without getting dramatic and trying to make things seem like a fight.

Your second posts =/= what you said in the first post.
It's not an argument. Just a factual statement. <3

    Back to the OP:
I say go to dark brown where you won't see much of a difference in the club but you will in your regular life. Then go to light brown and start playing up the Asian connection
outfit wise. And then do a light blonde and then eventually go all the way to blonde. This way you don't completely fry your hair, you can gauge responses and see if you need to buy wigs, and the blonde Japanese girl is such a look over in japan--depends on whether you're doing a classic Asian stereotype or a blonde modern Japanese girl with crazy style playing off the little girl look.

And if you can't stand that, go short, like a little above your shoulders, and get clip ins. I love clip ins more than wigs because they're less hot in terms of making me sweat and it looks more real.

Yep, longer the hair, easier the money, imo. Last time my friend cut and highlighted my hair he also gave me these ridiculous long blonde barbie hair extensions and since I started wearing them to work my average went up about $100 a night. Custies went from pretty easy to super easy to sell to. It might also be because having this fabulous platinum hair down to my butt makes me feel super awesome though.

You most definetely can rock short hair and make GREAT money… BUT- your face must be stunning and your body must be banging and you must be CONFIDENT! If you feel the least bit lacking in any of these departments it won't work. Stick with extensions.

IMO, Rihanna's hair looks even ugly on Rihanna. But do what you like. Long black hair is boring, maybe you can dye it brown and curl the ends?

Hi, I think there's some great advice on here, about trying wigs & changing your look that way. This way, you still have the option of your long hair, with additional option of change w/the wig.
I have long hair, & I just got got clip on bangs. I love variety, so I plan to get a wig or two, plus those color & dark single clip in extensions to change it up. Also I put my hair in a ponytail & wind it different ways around my head, giving it a sixties look.
