they have non-slip lotions like this:

you can get them at other places that sell dancer "gear" and probably amazon too

I don't think you need to buy a special dancer lotion. Just use a type that sinks in, doesn't just sit on your skin. When you get in the dressing room and get undressed, just put some on then. That should be sufficient enough to work until you shower.

Everyone I work with uses lotion, it's baby oil that is against the rules and stupid dancers who would slather up immediately before getting on stage. Just be mindful of how much and when you put it on. If I feel the need to reapply, it would be after getting off stage or freshening up before hitting the floor for dances.

See- vaseline sucks. It is one of those 'sit on the skin' types. It just looks good for sheen, and it is ok when you come out the shower to lock in some moisture, but I've left it behind. Actually I just use it on my feet, that's it. Take it from me, I've slathered myself in it since my childhood. It worked fine then, but I use jojoba, coconut or almond oil now. All natural, and keeps my skin looking luscious. Just mix it with a good lotion.

Jergens has one for very super dry skin, I used it for a while, mixing it with extra virgin olive oil. Or you could try Cetaphil, even better- Aveeno superduperultra moisturizing. LOL That's not the name, but look for the one for extra dry skin and give it a shot. Even a small amount of natural oil will help, and you won't have to worry about being slippery on stage.

I have eczema from time to time, and nothing worked like EVOO and lotion. Lots of people don't understand using olive oil over vaseline and baby oil, but I did the research then converted. You can't ingest vaseline/baby oil but you can olive oil. That says much to me. I switched to coconut oil which I love. I'm trying jojoba now since it's so popular, but I may go back to coconut. I only stopped the olive oil because I didn't like the smell. If you by the better brands there will be little smell though.

^Another natural god send, but it will be difficult to apply at work since it's supposed to be warm or room temperature I think? If you haven't tried it, buy a small amount from one of those stands in Harlem and give it a shot. It is too much for some people to use on their face, but the body should be fine.

That reminds me- a good on the go product with shea butter qualities is from the Shea Moisture line. It's sold in Target and Walgreens. I absolutely love it, the body wash, body butter soap and shea butter lotion in the jar. It's the closest you'll probably get to the pure stuff with very little preservatives. After reading all the revews on Target's site I went to buy a set and am now a fan.

Hemp lotion! I love it so much. No lanolin/petroleum/junk (which is why most lotions suck at what they say they do). The kind I got is in the Moist brand I think? I bought it from Sally's. Cherry Blossom scented which I enjoy, but might be offensive and "cheap" to some. Makes my legs so shiny without them being slick.

Ah eucerin is so greasy. I lather my whole body in lotion (I use either Suave, bath and body works, or Victoria's Secret) after I get out the shower. Then I get dressed and go to work and by time I get to work my body isn't ashy and the lotions had time to either sink in or rub off on my clothes so I don't leave the pole greasy for other girls.

And yay for you working now. =] I'm guessing you're at Perfections?

Yay! Glad you liked it. You have no idea how happy I was when I made the switch to something a bit more natural and healthier for my skin. Believe me, I love all the pretty bottles marketed to women from stores everywhere, it looks great on the vanity/sink. Today I use a plain plastic bottle with lotion and natural oil and my skin looks better.
