Default Another tax question about IC's

hey everyone, i know i already asked somethin about how to pay taxes on another thread. today i talked to my friend who is a IC..but she's a single mother.. and she works @ a spa. she told me for me to pay my taxes i would need a 1099 form that a company is required to sent to me by JAN 31 (at the end of the year). if they dont..the government have no way of tracking down..meaning they would not know if i'm working. and i told her i only made $3700 in those 8 months. she said don't even bother paying it if that's all i made. PLEASE CORRECT THIS IF I'M WRONG. I'M REALLY WORRIED ABOUT IT. ALSO, ITS MY FIRST TIME!

Correct, companies are supposed to send you a 1099 if they pay you more than $600. Regardless, you are still obligated to report your self employed income whether you receive a 1099 or not.

If you make more than $400 as a self employed person then you need to file a tax return. You have until April 18th this year to file your return or an extension.

Best to fill out the forms, even if you don't have to pay any taxes. Just keep it and your documentation in case of questions. Sounds like you'll be paying some to Self-Employment, unless your Schedule C shows a lot of valid expense deductions.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.
