How do you get sm to follow you on twitter

I really dont understand twitter so i try to stay off, how do you get sm to RT or follow you on there

probably just tweet that about Streamate - I posted that it was my first day and added my link and they retweeted & followed me; also I bet if you follow them they'll return the favor

SO LIKE @streamate ...then write something after ugghhh tweeting is confusing

I didn't even do that! My tweet was
"it's my first day on Streamate! come say hello - http://www.streamate.com/cam/mynamehere/"

and they retweeted and followed

also - ANYTIME you start a tweet with "@twittername", only the persons following twittername and twittername will see that tweet in their feed - so instead of "@streamate I'm live!" do "I'm live on @streamate" so everyone who follows you will see the tweet in their feed
