There's no reason to whine about it. It is what it is. The way I see it is youve got a few options:

    work in a different club

    quit dancing altogether

    do camming, escorting, modeling, etc.

    find a vanilla job

for me the money has been getting better. its already more profitable than it was 2 years ago when the recession hit my club. if i quit now i would be a fool HOWEVER if i was making 1/5 of what i was used to i would seriously reconsider my job. if dancing for very little money makes u unhappy (as it clearly does) it makes no sense to do it over and over again.

Where are all these perfect 10's you're talking about because all I see walking in are little rolly pollys with fashion bug shoes and wal mart panties -_-

I still make more than a regular min wage job that students make here. The nights work for me, and esp not having a boss is the best. Knowing I can come in whenever and leave works with me. Its a hit or a miss. Sometimes its burn out, time to rest, time to find a new club or quit!

SERIOUSLY! I know we just touched on this in another thread but my club is DESPERATE for girls. The owner is hiring girls he wouldn't have even let change and audition 3 years ago. And if I see another fucking girl walking around in "oh thanks, I got em at Hot Topic for 20 bucks!" 1" heels I'm gonna knock her right out of them!

    grrr grrr grr

ANYWAY...There was definitely about a year when I had to BUST my ass to make decent money, which is when the recession was at it's peak but now, things are steadily improving and it seems money is starting to flow through like it did. Not like it was 5 or 10 years ago of course but it's improving.

I think you'll find that things are worse where the club owners made mistakes during the hard times. Like what happened with Ricks in LV recently. A good possibility is money was borrowed during hard times from non government operated sources and when said funds could not be returned within a certain amount of time, drastic measures had to be taken.

Not everywhere will recover from the economy mind you. A lot of businesses went under or are just hanging on a by a thread.

If your really unhappy, quit and get a vanilla job as someone said. OR try another area and new club. Things may be completely different else where...

ok I gotta stop or I could talk about this forever....

For me, the money has never been better since I started 4 years ago. I have upped my game, exercise more, and only work 2 - 3 nights a week. Other girls are working 4 - 5 nights a week and aren't making what I do. But I have noticed it being very slow. Thank god for my regulars.

I can't stand how industry standards have fallen -_- I would rather be in a club full of perfect 10's making money knowing that I am formidable competition rather than merely slaughtering fish in a barrel which is what these rolly poly bitches are .

If memory serves me right, you are in San Francisco. Have you considered Reno? It's only 4 hours away and there are a few cheap sublets on Craigslist. I just moved up to Nor Cal to be closer to my parents and I am doing this along with camming. I also want to avoid the Deja Vu clubs. I started out there years ago and I passionately hate the SF ones.

i danced for 9 years and quit last fall. after 3 years of being consistintly worse and still being a top earner, i said fuck it. i cam full time now and make what i was dancing.

dancing went mainstream and became less taboo. once it started being cool for chicks to hang out in strip clubs and buy poles at spencers it went to shit. being a stripper became cool. that coupled with a failing economy and well there you have it.

then again i am in an economically depressed area. when i lived near a big city it was still worth dancing but when i moved home and it was back to garbage, i threw in the towel.

No I think everyone on this thread "gets it" but was the point really to see if this industry is "bottoming out?" C'mon I mean,no one wants to sit here and have a pity party about this shit. Excuse my language but threads like this tick me off. What was the point to depress ppl along the way of your realization. Miss me,I pass, cause I want no part of it. Where I'm working at I am just fine, but posts like this make me knock on wood. Stop whining and change your enviroment....simple solution.

You're so damn hot I'd bet you can rock granny panties! I'm talking about these fat ass rolly polly lardbucket bitches. One wore a black and pink schoolgirl outfit with her gut hanging over the top like a nasty pancake. I put on mine, put my long black hair in pigtails, went on stage and killed it. While I was prancing by, I quoted Jerry Lee Lewis "Follow that, killer!" she slunk out and hasn't been back since!

Yeah these bottom feeders need to stay the fuck out of Mt Olympus and leave it to the goddesses like us.

If guys wanted to see jelly rolls they can go to the Dunk N' Doughnuts.

the economy has been hitting different states at different time. Two years ago it was hitting one place I was in. I moved and it was AWESOME for a year and then it hit there, whereas the place I previously lived in was already starting to recover.

OMG, how rude. It's okay to disagree with someone, but let's try to have more tact when offering our opinions. I'm sure loveyonetwo didn't start this thread just to ruffle your feathers. And I don't think she was whining. People should be free to express their concerns whether it's true for you or not doesn't change her reality. And maybe what she should do about her situation is not such a "simple solution" as you put it.

I, for one, don't think that dancing is bottoming out, but I would agree that things have taken a turn for the worse and not in a good way. Some days are great, but most days are ehh nothing special and my club has made all the wrong decisions to try and pull in more customers in a failing economy.

Good luck to you loveyonetwo. I hope things turn around.

you just made my point, several years ago you wouldnt have had to jump states to make money or towns. hell 15 years ago you didnt have to give dances to make a g a night!

loook at the girls that have been around for a while we arent stupid.. everything goes in cycles. strip club cycle is hitting bottom it needs something fresh to change the dynamic.

It seems like everyone who has danced in SF passionately HATES it because pretty much all the clubs except the non-brothel ones are Deja Vu. That means working 3 days, having a schedule, and fighting for the little $$ that walks through the door. All the managers and staff are moved around from club to club. There aren't just "other clubs" here that you can go work at. There's only a few, and they all suck.

I've thought about Reno, but the drive is like 6 hours. Driving into another state just to dance seems ridiculous. Especially since SF is a city with the second highest cost of living in the US next to NYC.
Well, I was just throwing the idea out there. Yes, it is a Nor Cal thing. I've worked all over the country and have never seen as big of a suck fest as SF and I worked there before the recession. The money to bullshit ratio wasn't worth it back then ( along with the rampant extras ), I can hardly imagine the shitshow it is now. Hell, I have even worked in the much maligned Los Angeles and I would rather be there than SF.

I have the philosophy that if a certain geographical location isn't working for me, I GTFO. I would rather relocate or travel to an area where I can make money and not be miserable or have to compete with rampant extras. If money dries up and girls feel they have to go the extra mile to compete, I leave. I have the luxury of throwing my shit in my van and leaving. Your situation may not be that simple.

If someone seems to not be happy in there current location, I try to help them by suggesting a solution. If you don't feel the extra travel is worth it, so be it. I wish you luck in SF, maybe things will get better since tourist season is just around the bend.

I think strip clubs will always be around. The dynamics may (and prob will) have to change in order for it to stay dominate but the sex industry is too big to be phased out and no matter how much internet porn there is....it's not the same as real, flesh and blood, neked ladies in your lap.

Hahaha I didn't even see who posted that when I quoted I LOVE U, I now have that mental image in my head tho lmao we had a girl start last night (boss is desperate for girls because they keep running out on him, completly differnt topic though) and she makes the special ed face for her sexy face and she wore a walmart granny swim suit with her stomache hanging out hard core pancake! To make it worse she reminds me of a female version of that monster dude from the Goony's no joke intended. Plus she seems to not shave... like not just stubble in the armpit but full length man hair armpit! She made 45 bucks after $30 tip out and thought that was great....
