Default How do I dance at a "gown" club?

    Hi there,
I am going to audition for the Penthouse in NYC. It's a gown club...what do I do differently for that? I am from Washington State, and I am used to pole dancing and floor work w/tip rail. How is a gown club different, and any tips for getting hired?

    Thanks!!!

I don't see any reason why you can't use the same moves in a gown club. Perhaps do more stand up posing type of moves to show off the gown? Or laying down on your back with your legs up in the air and do moves with them (great if you have gorgeous legs!)? If you're that worried about moves, pay a visit to the club before your audition and check out the stage shows.

I avoid doing a lot of pole tricks until the dress is off, as I have a habit of getting it wrapped around the pole or caught in between my legs. Haha. I'm not very elegant!

Many if not most gown clubs,at least from my experience,do not have poles, including PEC,so practice dancing in heels without holding on to anything, which can be tricky.Try to wear nonslippery shoes.
Not sure about floorwork in Manhattan, don't think it's allowed, but could be wrong.
Just look your best and be elegant!Good luck!

right floorwork is not allowed in manhattan, at least not at the upscale clubs likes scores or pec, and there are no poles. i worked at scores and most of the girls just swayed back and forth.

as for tips. make sure u audition in full hair and makeup. i auditioned with ratty hair and they hired me only on the condition that i would pay to use their hairstylist and makeup artist every time i worked which is an extra 40 bucks a night.
