    Default Energy

I don't feel like I should have the amount of energy I should at my age. I'm still young but I feel zapped so often, I'm not really sure what the culprit is but I was wondering what you girls do to stay energized? If you could share any foods, exercise routines, supplements, etc that help give you a major boost I would totally appreciate it! Thanks

I've noticed that as I go through life, my energy level will fluctuate a lot based on stress. If I'm going through difficulties, it throws off my sleeping patterns and I find myself with less energy overall through the day. Perhaps this is partially to blame, if you have anything going on that is wearing on your mind moreso than usual?

A friend of mine felt this way for years and after going to many, many doctors she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Not saying this is what you have, it could just be a fluctuation, but it's something to think about.

Know it's an easy way out and not viable in the long term, but i just bought some bodybuilding pills called Tight. They boost your energy and mood for most of the day. Not tried one yet but i'll let you know how i get on. Some other girls have reported great success with them. I'm terrible at eating healthy, drinking enough water, or sleeping enough, so i often feel tired and drained. I think in a modern lifestyle it's very hard to do everything you're supposed to do, so it's good to have some loopholes :p

Try taking a ribose supplement. It dissolves into any liquid and doesn't have much of a taste - just tastes a little bit sweet, not bad at all. I notice a fairly significant difference when I use it. Come to think of it, I should start taking it again...

Thank you all for the suggestions I think I may possibly have chronic fatigue or maybe it is related to my struggle with depression as I never really had energy problems or trouble getting to sleep before then

See if your shrink will write you an Rx for Provigal. Half a pill in the morning gooses me up nicely, but without that speedy feeling of an amphetamine.

Absolutely agree. Life stress takes an enormous physical toll. Exercise that quiets the mind--yoga or even karate--can be very beneficial.

You should definitely take B vitamins. They can help with both energy and depression.

Have you ever been tested for anemia? Even if you aren't anemic, you should still try to incorporate a good amount of iron in your diet. Dark leafy green vegetables, lentils and red meat are foods that are high in iron off the top of my head.

I hope you figure out what the problem is. Good luck

Definitely take iron - that helped me feel a lot better when I was anemic. Even if you're borderline anemic you can really feel it sometimes!

Yeah, I think it will help a lot. Also vitamin C helps you absorb more iron.

Go get a blood test. Vitamin B12 deficiency is very common and some people can absorb it properly from even pills. Some need actual injections.

I also feel like I have chronic fatigue. Need to get it checked out by a doctor soon. Started taking B12 from the suggestion...but I'm on Day 3 and have not noticed any difference what so ever. Is it something that needs to be taken for a little while to notice, or if you have a deficiency in it, should it have worked immediately?

^ It takes time to build back up. Your body is supposed to store it. But when I got tested, my levels were so low it means I was likely having issues absorbing it from food for over 7 years! If your levels are extremely low it will take time to build up. Its a good idea to get blood tests though because as I mentioned, some people cant absorb it in the gut at all and need to get injections.

could as simple as your diet. Have you talked to a nutritionist? Do you exercise? Drink energy drinks? Have low blood sugar? All of these are possible causes and probably a cheaper way to find out what the issue is before spending a ton on supplements you may not need.
