Default Does having a tan help business?

Does it actually matter to guys if you're tan or not? Has your skin tone made any difference in the amount of cash you've made?
The reason I ask is that I recently went from pale to tan, and for a month have seen absolutely no difference in my earnings. Maybe I'm just the exception, I don't know.

Personally, I don't really care for women who are tanned. A little bit of a tan is okay, but it isn't going to make a difference in whether I spend on a girl or not. I will say that I find women with very dark tans kind of unattractive. Especially if you've been tanning so much that your skin starts to get a leathery burnt orange look to it... just... yuck.

Edit: This is, of course, just a matter of personal taste. There are guys out there who prefer a bit of a tan on a woman. I'm just trying to make the point that by tanning, you are losing customers as well as gaining others. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself is in your best interest, though. The prettier you feel, the more confidence you will have and that's the most important thing you can do to improve your earnings.

I am naturally very blonde with blue eyes so I am pretty pale, I spray tanned for a bit to a much darker color and although it made me feel more confident otc it made not difference in the club. I stopped spray tanning and am back to my natural skin color, this has made no difference on the money I have made. I don't think guys really care and I also think that as long as you feel confident with your body you will appear more sexy-tan or no tan.

Well, I feel sexier so yes. I also get many compliments when I'm tan in cold, pale NY land lol.

i make more when i am tan. tan, blonde hair that is styled somewhat trashy and big, hoochie mama eye makeup- yep, thats the winning forumula for me.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

It's crazy but I think yes. I went on vacation when I was a newbie and came back rocking a hard caribbean tan and I banked. Dudes kept asking me what island I was from or were curious about my tan. At my last club there is a tanning bed and I would lay in it for 20 mins once every 5 wks. I always had long lasting lines which helped me make money b/c I worked at a barbie factory. I was blonde at the time so maybe that was a factor as well.
Thank Goodness I smartened up! The old me is dead and gone.

I am super super pale (see avatar) and I think I do a little better when I have a slight tan.
I don't tan in the sun (like I don't think it's physically possible for me to lol) and I've never been really dark, but I use the Victoria's Secret self tanner and it gives me a nice glow.

I'm naturally extremely pale with blonde hair and green eyes. When I started tanning, I noticed a definite difference in my earnings. Mind you, I wasn't Sookie-dark or anything, but it was enough that it was noticeable, especially to people who had known me for awhile. I also feel sexier with a moderate tan, so I'm sure that helped.

I like to use a little fake tan spray for work. Not a lot, just as more of a method to mask imperfections and appear more toned because I'm super pale and fair. I think being majorly tanned would look unnatural on me, and even if it would make me bank at work I wouldn't do it because I don't think I'd like the look for the rest of my life. Sierra, is the victoria's secret stuff an aerosol or a lotion or a spray?

    It's a lotion, here's a link to it...

I've thought about doing the spray tan thing just because self-tanner can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but I've heard it only last about a week. Is that true?

I'm inclined to agree with BringOnTheMen -- it really depends on your overall look. I'm a redhead (not natural, but look it), and a tan would look silly on me. Most looks, however, would indeed benefit from a tan -- it enhances muscle tone, makes one look slimmer, and covers up little skin imperfections.

No self-tanners, spray or lotion, can last more than 10 days, because this is the amount of time that your skin takes to completely regenerate. Any claims that the color will last longer is a lie. Up to those ten days, the amount of time the tan lasts really depends on you and your hygiene habits. If you have healthy, moisturized skin, the tan will last longer. If you exfoliate before getting the spray or using the lotion, the tan will last longer. If you exfoliate afterwards, of course, the tan won't last as long.

I don't think it necessarily affects your money (your income depends less on your skin color and more on your personality/sales skills), but it can help you look better, and I get the feeling that guys prefer it in the club. If you're not very toned or you have stretch/marks cellulite, a tan makes you look thinner & hides your flaws. It can also make you look more exotic or more Barbie-like, if that's what you're going for. I like to go for the exotic look... I have pasty skin and dark hair, but when I'm tan, I get a lot more compliments.

for me, yes, but I swim outdoors all year, and have tanlines, so I have to 'even up'
I feel healthier with a tan too (light tan from being active, rather than tanning bed)

I definitely notice that the more tan I am, the more money I make. Also, the more eye makeup I wear the more I make.

I think there are enough girls that are tanned in the clubs I worked at, that I stand out being pale (ivory skin, blue eyes, blonde hair) that my look stands out in the club lights, and in the dark areas. Blonde hair gets more attraction based on the lighting and then the skintone makes you stand out in the club.

It is almost impossible not to have a tan out here:\ I really don't think it matters too much whether or not you tan. If tanning makes you feel beautiful, then do it--if it doesn't, then don't. When you feel beautiful you carry yourself with confidence and that is really what maters=)

Yes...(for most people). A little bit of color will make you look more toned and healthy.

I've tanned, I've been pale, I've spray-tanned, I've been in-between. I have not noticed a difference in my earnings. The only time I did notice was when I had noticable tan lines from a tank-top and shorts.

Definitely depends of the customer and type of club. My earnings nearly doubled when I ditched ghostly Goth white for a healthy 'not too much' glow.

I'd think looking healthy is very sexy, and a lil (not over the top tan) does the trick nicely.

Depends who you are, what your look is, and the area in which you dance. So to answer your question not necessarily.

I make more money than some tan girls. I don't think skin color matters as long as you have a pretty face and a great toned body.
