Default On payday what do you do to treat yourself :)

I live for payday! it makes doing this all worth it when im cashing out at the atm in dark sunglasses haha. After money is set aside for bills I always try to do something for me. yes i do the manicure/pedicure thing but thats all in the job haha.

It sounds silly but I get myself a new Philosophy brand body wash. I love the fragrances, and It always makes me feel awesome when im showering to get on cam... its always a nice reminder. I treat myself to new outfits, and toys sometimes too... I always like to feel that excitement and eagerness to work.

so ladies what are the things you do for yourself when payday rolls in?

SAVE!!!!!!! I love to see the commas in my bank account. It makes me so horny to watch my money grow!!

I also love to shop! Armani, Bebe, Marciano, Betsey Johnson .. BUT I know NOW not to overdo it.

Travel every three months with my daughter!I love staying at the suite hotels like Hilton Homewood suites instead of the Intercontinental hotel. I love going to the beach! What a way to relieve stress!

It's not just one thing that I do to treat myself on payday. Sometimes I use the money to travel, shop, go to concerts, and treat myself to fine dining. Most of the time I'm spoiling my family with whatever they may need at the time.

Wish I could save more, but right now it's Bills R Us.

My reply was not to you hun. Nor was it referring to anything you posted. Saving is not common knowledge. A lot of people just don't get it or why you should do it. Believe it or not.

Paying off my credit card bill from my dental work. I love seeing that number go down. I put aside what I need for rent, groceries, and my bills, put some in my savings to move, and then pay off my CC bill with everything that's left over. Feels great.

^^^@TG: I was not disagreeing with you. I was agreeing with you that I definitely do save, but just failed to mention it in my prior post. Damn, my bad.

This month I will finally pay off my credit card bill and in three months I'll have paid off the last of the bills from the most recent time I was hospitalized. That's a reward that I love!

For a little treat or reward I get cupcakes and champagne. I feel like a stripper cliche when I do that but I suppose that's part of the reward! Allowing myself to do the thing that I want even though I feel cliche.

I consider shopping for lingerie and sex toys to be a business expense and I actually have money I set aside for it to "invest back into the business" lol.

Some things are cliche for a reason. If something becomes trite, it must have been awesome enough those first 5,000 times around that the novelty finally wears off!

i dont specifically splurge because i had a good money day...its mostly depends on my mood...especially if im hurt by a guy, then ill splurge on myself to remind myself that there are other things in life that are fun too.

the thing i splurge the most on is food. i probably spend more money on food than anything else aside from rent. love nice restaurants and just good food in general.
next is the theater. especially vegas shows when im in town.
then third is clothing. i still try to get good deals though, i shop thrift or consignment mostly though once in a while ill go to saks.

I LOVE shopping at thrift stores, not that I can't afford anywhere else. There's just always a certain variety at those types of places that I like. Also I'm always giving my money away Its not something I intend to do every week,it just happens. There seems to be someone around me that always needs help!! I feel really bad knowing someone else is need and I have the funds to help them. So thats what I do every payday. Going to have to stop that soon though. I have my own child to take care of!!

Since I started SM, I"ve put most of my checks in to savings to help buy a new car for hubby this summer. But, in the next few weeks, I'm saving for an IPAD 2!

I'm trying to save, but I always spend a lot of money on high-end expensive makeup. It's an addiction.

I set high monthly goals, and if by the end of the month I at least hit my "lowest" goal, I buy myself something off the coach factory store site. Never more than $150, and thats if I make my 'big' goal, lol. I'm not one for designer things..but for some reason, I like coach purses..and the factory site has AMAZING prices. (and the stores too, but none of them are really close to me). I agree with the makeup though..I'm also a makeup artist, and its a weakness..but I dont go crazy, and dont strictly use designer makeup (only thing that I do consistently use is makeup forever eyeshadow, the rest is drug store, but ok for your skin, like neutrogena and physicians formula). Other than that..I'm a huge saver. huge.

On GOOD paydays, I have a ME time. I go do a huge grocery shopping that includes yummy things that I do not shop for in ordinary days, like good cheese, exotic olives, fruits etc. Then and splurge buying my favorite bottle of champagne. Then spend a day at the pool drinking champagne, snacking on my favorite things, and just relaxing. Then make inspiring diners or just go out for sushi. I spend so much time thinking, helping and caring on others that I forget to think about myself sometimes. So I made it non-negotiable to have ME days on those good pay days.

My addiction wouldn't be a problem at all if I was into drugstore makeup, but I'm definantly a high-end girl. I'm totally fine shopping at Plato's Closet or Forever 21 for clothes and handbags, but I love my expensive makeup. I should really give drugstore products a chance, but it's just easier to shop at Mac and Sephora where you can sample everything. Anything you recommend from the drugstore?? I've only bought Covergirl mascara and a few Wet n' Wild eyeshadows.

I actually spend less on makeup now that I'm exclusively high end because I need to replace stuff less and feel less of a need to update my collection. I think if you tried to move over to drugstore your problem would get even worse because you would be WAY less satisfied with your stuff, so you would feel much more of an urge to get more.

maybe you could try channeling the money into a fund for expensive treatments? Like, setting aside $100 every now and then to get laser hair removal, IPL photofacials, microdermabrasion, etc.
You're right. I don't own many drugstore products, but I rarely find myself reaching for the ones I do own. I used the Revlon Colorstay and I don't understand the hype at all - it sucks. The Wet n' Wild eyeshadows aren't as great as everyone makes them out to be either. The only time I even look at drugstore makeup is when my cash is running low.

Anyway, other than things that need to be replaced often, like mascara and eyeliner, I could easily go a year without buying makeup. I think I'm going to go on a very, very long no-buy on makeup (other than essentials), because I need to save around $20,000 for an esthetics license, a rhinoplasty, and a BA. If I save $7,000 (not including what I save for taxes) every year, I can get this all done in 3 years, which would be amazing.

Also, I mentioned this in a different thread, but I recently broke out really, really bad from using the clarisonic, so I really need to shell out the cash for microdermabrasion treatments. It's so much more worth it to go to the spa and do something nice for my skin, than spend hundreds of dollars on makeup I don't even need. I totally agree with everything you said.

Oops, I rambled a lot, sorry.

Setting away money for big ticket items is also addicting in its own way. When I was hardcore saving for my BA I would barely spend any money on myself- I would sock it all away. Right now I'm recovering from my BA so I'm not making any money, but the second I get back to work I'm getting my hair finally fixed and IPL + laser hair removal OMG I can't wait! I am tempted to go back to work with my bandages on because I need to get back in my beauty regime THAT badly!
I've never gone to a nice spa. Shocking, right? You'd think all of this $$ I spend at Sephora and Mac, I would be going to the spa too. I agree that anything that's going to improve my skin in the long-term is so worth it. I really need to start setting money aside every month for micro and facials. Eventually, I'd like to start getting IPL and laser hair removal done too.

I remember you posting a lot about saving for your BA, then when you posted about having it done, I felt really inspired to get my ass in gear and start saving too. Everytime I think about spending money, I'm going to start picturing myself post BA and rhinoplasty. I think once I start actually saving money, it'll be addicting for me too. The key is to work. A lot.

I'm sure you'll make the $$ you need in no time. For now, I think you should just relax until you feel up to working. Make your boyfriend do everything for you, lol. Congrats on your BA, btw. You've really worked hard for it, and I'm so happy for you.

And I go to a high end spa in a really expensive city.

Yes, work a LOT. You'd be SO surprised how much money you can save if you work a lot and put every last dollar you can away. It's kinda scary actually...I saved about $4,500 in like 2 and a half weeks just by working 5 days/week and supposedly this month has been slow...I just got my ass to work a lot and put it ALL away.
Yeah, you're right. As long as my savings goals are on track, I'll be able to afford at least micro and facials every month. I live in an expensive city too, and micro is only $150. I'm not sure how much laser is here but I'd really like to get my underarms done. I'm going to research other procedures too, because thanks to the clarisonic, my skin sucks more than usual right now.

My savings goal is pretty low compared to yours. Only $7,000 per year, but I'd rather set it low and exceed it than set it too high and be disappointed.

Wow, reading this made me realize that hard work does pay off. Some of us get really burnt out in the sex industry and lately I've been avoiding work. I've made some lists of things I'd like to get myself and my hubby at the end of the month of I do well and I'm glad I came to this thread. It makes me push more with work so that I can afford the things I need/want. Once bills are paid and the things we need for our new place is bought I need to spoil myself with a make over. Hair, nails, eyebrows, eyelashes and a new wardrobe. This summer I must look my flyest lol. Great motivational thread!
