    .
there might not be as much traffic as SW, but there is a lot. in the battle of quality v. quantity, i think they take quality and SW takes quantity. in regards to stripping info, if i ask a question about stripping i often post it there becasue i tend to get a lot better info. and same with ladies only/ girly type issues (plus they are private there). the community there is more tightknit, but many of hte members are members who were here at one pt. i think the quality of the stripping community on this forum has gone down as a whole... so even if SW gets more traffic, that doesnt mean that the traffic is good traffic.

in regards to other work, there is not nearly as much info on camming over there. there is more info on sugar daddy etc. on that site but there is WAYYY more of a webcam community over here.

google exotic dancing forum. stripperweb is not the first forum to come up.

the trick is you have a public and private section. it would be like making a private cam girl section on SW.

Been iffy about posting in this thread, but I'm not sure there is a real solution. A forum on a cam site for models only solves some issues, but of course, would you REALLY speak your mind knowing the man is watching? A forum for women in the adult industry, run by women, has been thought of and tried many times, but just like some of the ladies here creating a new forum, the real trick is getting everyone to go there and be part of it!
its been done before (for strippers).
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

We really need this forum to be private. I know I'm not the first to have a run-in regarding things I've posted on here thinking noone else would see it but us adult workers.

But then again, I highly doubt it because I don't date stupid men, only the articulate and well-educated ones. I'm one of the nicest people anyone irl would ever meet, and I really try to be helpful. He doesn't believe anything I say because he's IGNORANT. He was the ONLY person to vote "splitcamming" in the poll I recently made. He said himself that he had never even HEARD of a sugar baby before. So if course he's going to think I'm lying if he lacks knowledge in most of the areas we concern ourselves with on a daily basis. Or maybe he has some sick sexual fetish and gets his rocks of by attacking women? It's hard to tell when you are dealing with creeps exactly what the motivation is. Or, maybe he is indeed a hacker and I just got to be his "lucky" scapegoat, in order to shift the attention away from the fact that he's trying to hack this forum and many of the girls on it.
I'm pretty surprised this bloodhoundgang guy is still around on the forums. I actually read those threads when he first showed up. Not only is he creepy, but he's pretty incoherent. I can't even understand what he's trying to say. I doubt that he's an ex if you're saying you only date educated men...cause I don't think any educated man could write soooo poorly (even if they were making it up).

Probably some bored teenager...hopefully he's gone for good...

    Back on topic now? Ok.

There should be someplace where performers can speak openly and with each other away from prying eyes, trolls, stalkers, haters, curious fans, ex-boyfriends, boyfriends, husbands, and ME too.

I am unconditionally with you on this subject.

I have some pretty specific ideas about how to achieve it too. Ideas that I've been solidifying for almost two years while trying to keep the peace and squash the bullshit as a moderator on that other forum.

But I'm new to many of you here. And that's ok. Thanks to those who responded with their thanks.

Are people envisioning a forum like psosupport? No model verification necessarily but you have to register and nothing is public? I support that.

CoolBreeze no offense to you, and Im glad you acknowledge that:
    1. you are not a cam model
    2. you moderate in another forum that seems to have a hate-on for SW (let's uh not derail by discussing this)

Which feels... counter-intuitive. Do know that I think your participation as a male voice here is one of the better ones Ive seen since Ive been on SW's Other Work section but Id rather be blunt about my perspective.

EDIT: oh, you said away from YOU too? I missed that. allrighty.

Building a forum is not tough if one has access to the appropriate software, cpanel is fantastic and I used it for my website... and there are several features there already for creating forums. Many cam girls are webdesigners and are around who would be willing to invest the time. So can we leave this thread up at least a week and not leap into making a choice... that'd be helpful at least for my process.

A surveymonkey poll may be a great way to capture everyone's ideas, concerns, questions, mod nominations - plus itd be anonymous and the results can be freely available to everyone.

Also if there can be a realistic timeline so people don't get overly ambitious and end up resenting everyone or suddenly disappear that'd help make this more viable. Bear in mind that the person buying the domain isn't just buying a $10 godaddy thing - they'll need to add on privacy + possible bandwidth + memory + cpanel, etc.... plus calculate time away from their own work into the project. That person can offset costs by taking out advertising/affiliate space though, but it won't be nickels and won't be a few minutes here and there (at least at the beginning).

Also if there is some kind off-SW communication method that people can use to design the project (google groups or mass emails or something), I think that'd help keep the ideas in one place and won't clog up space for those who aren't interested.

The person leading this will have to keep in mind that they'll be doing the bulk of the work, will need to sustain a bulk of the energy, will be spending their own money, and may not have people knocking down their doors with gratitude. It won't be a fun vanity project and it may fail. So the person heading it needs to be blindly committed to having this kind of forum or they'll grow resentful, dramariffic, and / or fade away.

...I realize I am shouting out ideas that I should just implement myself, but wanted to vomit this all out in case I can't commit.

But great idea Isobel and basically everyone else who has been asking for this for months.

Perhaps because "Other Work" doesn't solely apply to camgirls.

I'm not verifying shit with anybody. This is an open forum. Anybody who expected privacy form a forum that they didn't have to do a damn thing to gain access to must have been suffering from a moment of gross stupidity.

Seriously, some of you use your work names on here, post your websites and then screech stalker when someone contacts you because of it.

It's called ADVERTISING for fuck's sake. If you don't want to advertise here then FUCKING STOP DOING IT.

I swear to god this website is full of moronic children lately. Use your fucking brain. If you post your pictures on the Internet along with contact info and talk about masturbating on cam, people WILL contact you. Go fucking figure!

In fact, I was going to bring that up but had other things to take care of. Here goes: The name of this website is called "Stripperweb". This site is more dedicated to strippers more than anything (at least it seems that way). I imagine the other work section was supposed to be this small section of the site until it blew up! It is now BIG! We have new posters posting here everyday. However, we have to keep in mind that this site is geared toward strippers more than anything. I would love a private forum as well but I know it ain't gonna happen here.
If you are an escort there are private forums for that. If you are a camgirl there are private forums for that. If you are a stripper there is a private forum for that but stripperweb isn't it and from what I have heard as of late, it will never be it.

Having said all that, I don't think others are stupid or moronic for wanting a private forum. However, I do think it is stupid to post your contact info, website info and complain when someone contacts you using that information.

Well I think the idea is to have a place where some threads can be private chatter between models while other threads can be open, such as general advice or even a thread to promote themselves (but really, you would want to promote all the models and non-scam sites without having to show the name your using on the forum).

A site (more than a simple forum) would be nice if it allowed models to vote-off anyone that spammed or caused trouble, but as part of that, you would need some kind of system to "vote-up" models that post, a kind of "verified by consent."

Perhaps a respected blogger that posts about issues found on many different sites/forums and moderates the comment section to highlight model feedback.

@Roast ~ No offense taken. A clarification: I did moderate on another forum. Past tense. And a thank you: for the compliment and other observations. I like blunt. It's to the point.

I agree with everything you've highlighted, and a lot more that you didn't. Building a forum isn't hard. Building a public forum, securing certain sections of it, staffing it, growing it, operating it, moderating it, and maintaining privacy is a little harder. It takes planning and time and effort and money and expertise and patience and a level head. Yeah, and a zero tolerance for bullshit policy.

I like the idea of an off SW communication point, and I think it's appropriate (respectful) considering the subject. Props to SW for everything they've accomplished! As for timeline, if it's me doing it, expect 6 months from initial disucssions to first live. If it's sooner, great. But I like to cover my bases and I'm a particular son of a bitch about certain things. Honestly I was just trying to measure interest in something like this. People here don't have a feel for me yet, and I have zero problem staying out of it.

I just have more time than usual right now and I don't like to be idle. No, I'm not a cam model. I just get it. I'm interested in the community of people who operate with a different perspective on life. Adult worker or not. Because I do. The secure area isn't the focal point of what I've got in mind, it's just one of the pieces.

Maybe I am still high or something, but I think there are some people on here who are men posing as cam girls....and cam girls posing as men (customers).

I know I am still new, but I have posted a lot and talked to some girls in private messaging and something just seems so "fishy" about some of the posts...

But that's the internet...nothing really is private or what it appears to be, I guess.

agreed. especially the ones who are acting like lesbians and trying to hit on people privately! im seriously suspecting that 90 percent of them are dudes. I'm THIS close to not posting advice on here anymore bc im tired of freeloaders who expect you to baby feed but don't contribute by helping others, and I'm tired of guys pretending to be chicks! Sorry lol it's been a bad night :/

Why not just out them? or report them? Obviously we already know of one. However, if one is doing that and could be a threat you need to say who you think it is and alert the community.

    i'm not a camgirl.
the quality of posts in the dancing sections declined because dancers were wary of revealing where they worked or had worked, reviewing clubs in fear of consequent flooding...basically, the dancing sections became more and more deserted when the other site popped up and offered the no-lurkers, dancers-only rule. and that is where people are giving current reviews of clubs and all that shit that is no longer done here because of the lack of privacy.
certainly, it's a private forum and blah blah don't be stupid, but that doesn't really address the issue of women not wanting to post because of privacy issues.
i know i am not the only one who did not understand why there were men posting, the lack of privacy, etc.
i'm also not sure why you seem so upset. but then again, i never post here so i'm not sure if this topic has been overdone or what. i literally popped in to see if they had make the forum private yet. irony.

Camille I remember arguments about girls not wanting to post about specific clubs in the strippers sections and now the stripper sections have seemed to become lacking.

There have been recently people arguing here in the OW section about people not talking specificly about websites or releasing information. If that mentality wins out, it will just become like the other SW sections.

I have been to the other site. Seemed kinda dead but I visited years ago and its probably better off now.

yeah, between clubs getting curiously flooded after good reviews in club chat, and newbies asking the same questions, and not-yet-dancers glorifying the industry during the honeymoon period, and....there was a lot, i think, that decreased traffic in the dance sections.
it is nice to see a name i recognize! christ, i am getting old..

No verification, but maybe a requirement that all new members post in a "welcome aboard" thread or else their account will be deleted for not posting anything after 30 days (or something like that). Doesn't have to be details on there screen names or what site(s) they are on, but SOMETHING to let everyone else know who is actually on the forum.

Also think there needs to be at least one section that is public so cam models or potential modles can find the forum.

great ideas! I agree. Shall I start a new thread on this topic? Is there enough interest? If you're interested, thank this post!!!!!

So if you want to be with me
With these things there’s no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I’d rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery
Besides maybe this time is different
I mean I really think you like me

It is now BIG! We have new posters posting here everyday. However, we have to keep in mind that this site is geared toward strippers more than anything. I would love a private forum as well but I know it ain't gonna happen here.
If you are an escort there are private forums for that. If you are a camgirl there are private forums for that. If you are a stripper there is a private forum for that but stripperweb isn't it and from what I have heard as of late, it will never be it.

Having said all that, I don't think others are stupid or moronic for wanting a private forum. However, I do think it is stupid to post your contact info, website info and complain when someone contacts you using that information.
since the otherwork section has blown up so much.. it would be nice if they made it a sister site to here... like camwhoreweb or something like that. kind of like strip club junkie is now... the actual stuff related to being a customer is separate but they still interact with us on life support, lounge etc. but when i hit new posts, posts on SCJ dont show up. this would be nice to girls who are mostly dancers like me, because when i hit new posts sometimes if i am not paying attention i will start replying to something as if it is a question for dancing, then realize what i am spending time to type is not important since it is a question for camming. i also doubt i am the only stripper on here who is getting kind of turned off due to the boom in camgirl members.... not that it is a bad thing in theory, but since this is a site mostly for strippers, i think that the overflow in the other work section is turning off some dancers from posting and resulting in the stripper section being much less active than it used to be.

other work section should still remain... but i remember when it was evenly split between escorting and camming and being a sugar baby etc. now it seems like most of the posts on here are about camming... and i think the site should adapt accordingly.
