    Default Durable stripper shoes?

So I basically beat the crap out of my shoes quickly at work. I generally tear the rubber off the sole by the toe or insides from letting my feet drag when I'm spinning on stage. The other problem I have is the platform pulling away from the foot of the shoe. I go through shoes like water, and it gets expensive. I just took three pairs in to get re-soled, but I'm concerned about the platform-separation issue (the shoesmith reglued a couple of spots that looked iffy).

Have you found any brand is more durable than the others? I think I've danced in most of them but I'm interested to hear other opinions. I wear 7in stiletto platforms (I don't like the chunky heels, and I'm really picky about the height). Thanks!

As a high heels model I have encountered the same problems myself - the worst being the inner sole peeling away from the base.....but I've had the rubber coming off the bottoms too.

Generally I have found that most of the Brands available are about the same quality, although 'Ellie' shoes have the edge on 'Pleaser' as far as durability is concerned. 'Tony' shoes are also pretty robust.

We have two brands over here that you can find online - 'Nite-Life' and 'Footlights'. Both make gorgeous shoes and the 'Footlights' heels in particular are really well made.

With regards to domestic US Brands - look for 'Reflections' shoes. They are simply gorgeous to look at with sculpted sharp-point heels. They are exceedingly well made high heels, and they do 5", 6" and 7" stilettos.

Here is their website - but please note, you have to buy their heels from a retailer. They don't sell direct.

I have better luck with Pleasers, and I do a lot of toe dragging, shoes checks and pole climbing. I still have to take boots to Mr. Lee the Stripper Shoe Repair Wizard here in town.

I have a pair of white, 7.5" Pleasers that I've had for 6 years and never had to have repaired.

The three pairs I just had repaired were pleasers, ellie, and tony. I agree with Desuvs about lacking consistency. I had a pair of pleasers forever, finally bought a new pair just because they were looking worn (the exact same model), and they fell apart within a few weeks.

I definitely think the soles are better once a good shoesmith has replaced them, but it is the pulling from the platform part that is a little trickier.

    Oh well...

Ellies are the first shoes to break! The rubber soles come off of them faster than any other brand I have encountered.

My favorite brand is Tony's Shoes. They last for-EVER!

Shoot! I was going to say Pleasers! Damn their inconsistancies!
