Default I didn't exactly quit but...

Well many of you know the Toronto/GTA scene. Too many catty girls, rampant extras and not enough money floating around.

I wasn't going to sit here and be a victim or be in the poor house and complaining.

So I got myself a "normal" (however normal you want to call a 911 dispatcher) job.

At first 2 months ago I got myself into yet another call centre (I have worked several CSR/collections rep jobs in the past) via a employment agency. While at the employment agency/call centre I took some of my free time and some of my hard earned cash and updated my CPR training (last time I did that was 4 years ago).

4 years ago I worked for a brief time as a 911 dispatcher. I quit mainly because I was under alot of pressure with school and thought I could make $$$$ stripping instead. I got my qualifications to work as a 911 dispatcher plus my university degree in psychology back then.

Now? wow... 2 weeks ago I got a call asking me to come down for an interview (they liked my resume). I dressed to impress and put my smarts on .., and they called me two days later saying I got the job!!

So anyhow I am now back to working as a 911 dispatcher. I started on Monday and had to be at work from 7am-3pm for orientation week.

The pay is good, $24/hr. Its only 20 hrs a week for now, but that's enough for me to live on.I could be bumped up to full time in 12 months from now.

I just wanted to share this with you ladies, some of you may have been wondering where I was.

Yeah I know some of you may be thinking "gee $480 is not a lot of money" but really it is the fact that it is DEPENDABLE money that makes me like it.

And I trust that most of you ladies who live in the GTA/Toronto know exactly what I am talking about when I say the clubs here are gross and money isn't that great for a clean dancer.

I still will dance (occasionally when I have the time) to make some $$$ on the side before I get offered a FT job as a dispatcher. But maybe stick more to phone and webcam stuff.

my only complaint about leaving the clubs is I have put on weight. I have danced like 2 times over the past 2 months. That and call centres are in general fattening places (lots of baked goods, pizza days, heck we even had a chocolate day this tuesday where we were given tons of chocolate!).

I'm happy for you! I don't think there's anything wrong with a 'normal' job, and dancing to supplement, as long as you're happy. I do miss seeing you around, but I like that you pop in a update occasionally. This is a hard city to hack it in, and it's literally getting harder month-by-month. 24/hour is awesome too!

I totally want to PM you with questions!

    You seem happy so congrats!!!
Awesome pay when people are getting laid off even the 10$h jobs. As long as youre doing what makes you happy, then go for it. Congrats for getting the job

Congratulations on the new job, glad it's working out well for you and you were able to so easily transition away from dancing when it was no longer doing it for you!
