    Default EXIF

EXIF was mentioned in another thread,

EXIF is the information that your camera stores when you take a picture. Like, when you upload it to flickr and it has what camera you took it on, exposure, blah blah blah.

    WELL
on some devices, exif also contains your effing location. YOUR EFFING LOCATION.

My phone is the only one that does this, and it has an option to not record that particular data.

So. Please check to make sure your settings do not record your location before you send out that nice photo set. 'Cause it's not city, state, its lat/long.

My favorite software is from RL Vision.- Exif Tag Remover. It's downloadable (not via the internet like ExifRemover). Plus, you can install it in an encrypted drive (it doesn't store any App Data in your C Drive).

Just wanted to add that if anyone is doing exif data spring cleaning for previous photo sets, remember to keep your copyright data in it or manually add it back into the image (unless your model release specifies that the company you're selling to will gain exclusive rights to the images).

interesting! how do you add a copyright into the exif data?
    I've never.

I do opt for massive watermarks though.

ExifPilot is awesome. Easy, simple interface.
    I typically do a 3 step process.
Step 1: ExifTagRemover (full data strip, and save as new image in a new folder)
Step 2: ExifPilot (add copyright data into "Copyright" section, whatever you choose that to say)
Step 3: In image folder, get into image properties and set to "read only" (this part optional. If you're selling images to a company, check with them first, but if for your blog or something....

You can do step 1 and 2 in ExifPilot if you want, but I didn't want to have to edit piece of data manually (ie. Camera Model, Camera Manufacturer....) too much time).

I'm always down for more shortcuts.

ETA: ExifPilot and ExifTagRemover both work in an encrypted drive (no C Drive App Data)
