Arrow I want to start feature dancing..q's...

Ok, so now that I have become fairly successful as a webcam girl, I even bought and started my very own adult website, i feel like i am ready to go back to dancing.

BUT, I want to go back as a "feature" dancer this time around. I feel i could really promote my website and get myself out there, and that i'm ready to start expanding my horizons a bit.

A good gf of mine had been a feature for years and told me that they won't even look at me unless i weigh 120 lbs!!! I'm a tall girl of almost 5'9", and if i were 120, i'd look like a stick. I have big natural boobs and yes, i have curves, BUT curves in all the right placesl. I'm about 145-150lbs.

Everyone tells me I have a very marektable look and that I should try to contact the agencies anyways to see what they will tell me. But, also I trust her advice, since she was in the business for years.

Do i really need to loose 30 lbs in order to be a feature dancer?

I went on Pure, Continental, A-List, & Lee Network to check out some of the girls, and ALOT of them had some curves going on, and there is NO WAY IN HELL all of them were 120lb!!!!

I need any advice and comments from anyone who is featuring currently, Should i contact agencies anyways and see what they say?

Sorry so long And i super appreciate anyone who is reading this!!!

    XoXo!

Thanks for your input! I totally agree with you! I thought at 120, I'd look like a stick.

I'm just gonna submit to the agencys the way I am now, and see what they say. I have no problem just toning up, etc, and that is understandble

    Thanks again

actually, the most important 'ingredient' in becoming an economically successful feature dancer is amassing 'credits' that can be used by clubowners to promote your club appearances in local media. This means magazine credits ( with Holy Grail being a Playboy appearance, but Penthouse and other mags are good as well ), video credits ( XXX boxcover being the Holy Grail, but appearance credits in any major XXX studio production are good as well ), relevant awards ( miss nude ___ , ___ of the year ) etc.

When clubowners make decisions about which feature to hire ... and when agents make decisions as to how large of a feature fee the clubowner can be charged, they are really deciding based on the above criteria ... and NOT the quality of the feature dancer's stage show / personal appearance etc. However, there is one exception ... which involves some 'larger than life' physical characteristic such as having a cup size in the second half of the alphabet, being a 6'2" classic showgirl, being a female bodybuilder etc.

    WOW Melonie,

VERY good input here! And all that makes perfect sense. Hmmm, how does a girl wanting to start featuring this summer so about getting "credits". I'm sure boxcover credits and magazine credits aren't just overnight things. I would have NO CLUE how to go about getting credits like that

Is there a site of pageants for exotic dancers? Maybe I could try something like that. I'm sure I'd work on credits as I go, but just to begin, I guess you're right, I do need something.

    Where to begin.......is the question....

Thank you so much! Alot for me to think about! I've gotta get a plan in action Thanks

^^^ one traditional way to try to 'break into' magazines is to have some professional 'portfolio' shots taken which can then be submitted to magazine editors. As far as XXX videos go, however, this is pretty much a 'personal audition' thing ... which essentially means a trip to SoCal or Florida where the major XXX production companies are located. On a different level, there are miss nude ___ contests all over the place ( google search ), there are opportunities to appear on 'reality TV' shows etc.

It's also possible to hook up with a feature agency first, and to then 'work your way up' with the agency using their 'connections' on the aspiring feature's behalf. But to be brutally honest this usually involves a great deal of road work at disappointing feature fee rates, at least initially. There are also a couple of 'feature schools' available that are linked to feature agencies.
