Default First night, my make-up sucked

So I got hired last night after my 2 second audition (spent most of the previous hour in dressing room curled up in gown and platforms sobbing in preparation-jk).

And even though I do amazing civilian makeup, it appears I suck ass at stripper makeup.

I went with the smokey eye look which is great if you're wearing a cocktail dress and can have your hair pulled up. But it was paired with my red jessica-rabbit gown and a pair of pink platforms and my hair was straight. So I looked like crap. And I wore bright pink lipstick too. Big no-no.

The other dancers somehow looked both natural with sexy glam big eyes that went with their colorful and fun dresses.

Anyone have any tips? What's considered good stripper makeup?

It really depends on your look and style. I go for the glam/sophisticated look. I emphasize my eyes with heavy black liner (top and bottom lids), fake lashes, and a shimmery, light pink or gold eye shadow (I'm blonde with a fair complexion). I wear a light powder mineral foundation, blush on the cheeks, and sweeping bronzer primarily on my forehead and cheekbones. My lips are very neutral - I wear a matte nude/pink that is just a little darker than my natural lip color and top it with gloss.

I think the key is to pick one feature and highlight it - typically either your eyes or lips (I choose eyes). You also may want to apply your blush a little heavier than you normally do because the darkness of the club can make you look washed out easily (especially if you have light skin).

Give urself a break. It takes time to learn what make up style and costume styles, colors etc will work right for u. U got to get out there and hold ur head up high and slowly u will find what looks best for u. Everyone was a beginner at some point. I was very awkward at first...Everyone has to learn and get past that awkward phase.

What kind of skin tone, eye colour and hair colour do you have? This is what makes up what kind of complexion/colouring you have. It's impossible to give you any kind of specifically tailored make-up tips without this info. As a general rule for stripper make-up the darker the eyeliner the better and load it on along with the mascara. Also buy a contouring compact and learn to use it to accentuate your facial bone structure (it's like painting, the parts you want to appear more sunken (like under your cheekbones) you darken, and the parts you want to bring forwards like on top of your cheekbones, the front of your nose and your browbone you lighten.

You're not looking for "stripper make up". Personally I don't even know what that is. You're looking for soemthing that enhances your beauty and makes you alluring.

I was totally makeuptarded when I stripped. Like, seriously. I got better at it over the years, but still. The good news is that, generally, guys only know if you look good or bad. So as long as you're pretty and do a decent job, just focus on improving. Sometimes it can be a good thing to look like a bit of a newb when it comes to your look, as long as you don't look slobbish or hot-messish.

    Thanks everyone!

I tried out two new looks and its getting better. Way better than the raccoon eyes I rocked at my audition.

This time I'm using monistat chafing relief as a primer (found the tip online, it really works) on the eyelids and I did a very heavy cat eye with purple shadow and falsies. Light pink lipstick and lots of gloss.

Although I am stearing clear of the falsies now because I ripped out fifteen lashes. Grrr. I'm sure I effed it up with way too much glue and there's a way to do it but at this rate I won't even have eyelashes by next weekend.

if your struggling with falsies then u can actually go to a salon an get permanant fake lashes put in. they need to be redone evry coupla weeks but they look really good. an yeah, its a bit of an expense but hey, u have stripping money now!
