    Default Any good detox diets?

I honestly feel like my weight has been affecting my traffic lately. I am planning on starting my interval running again monday but I want to try a kick start weight loss thing. I have about 15 to lose. I was thinking of doing a raw food diet but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Try "The Liver Cleansing Diet" from Dr Sandra Cabot.

Don’t read too much into the philosophy , its healthy eating and your guarantee to lose weight. Give it a month and you will be surprised by the results.

I dont mean to be rude, but that chicks a terrible spokes model for going vegan! She looks sickly. I'd rather eat meat RESPONSIBLY than ever starve myself of stuff the human bodies need. Humans are omnivores for a reason to get all the proper nutrients we need... Not trying to be rude to vegans/vegetarians, my mother is a vegetarian, just my thoughts, and come on that girl in the link does look rather unhealthy...

Don't go raw!! It really can be hard on your system - you have to work your way towards it - I know the idea of "kickstarting" weight loss sounds nice, but it really is unhealthy - long term changes start with slow, steady progress.

To make healthy changes now, stop drinking anything but coffee (real milk & sugar only, no creamer or fancy crap), tea, water, and 100% juice (no sugar, no corn syrup, etc.)

Start eating fresh foods - if you don't have to cook it, it isn't good for you! The easiest way I've found to do this is to eat very simple basics - scrambled eggs, pasta with sauce (there should be 2x as much sauce as pasta for this to be truly healthy), fresh vegetables, etc.

If you want some basic meal plans, I'd love to help! I took a nutrition class in college, was vegan for a year, and after about 6 months of really experimenting, I've found a "diet" that's healthy, doesn't leave me hungry, and keeps me at a nice weight.

So if you want to be with me
With these things there’s no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I’d rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery
Besides maybe this time is different
I mean I really think you like me

"Go raw" or "go vegan" are almost always thrown out as answers when someone wants to clean up their diet... but they aren't always the best ones. Especially if you're just looking for an easy change. Eating raw or vegan can be a lot of work if you want to make sure you're still getting everything you need... not getting everything you need on extreme diets like that can leave you depressed and lethargic.
Depending on your current diet... making a big difference in cleaning out your body could be as easy as stop eating pre-packaged foods and drink more water.
I, myself, don't do detox diets... so no real recommendation there except to say to THOROUGHLY research whatever suggestions you're thinking of going with so you don't do more harm than good.

^^^ I agree 100% raw is not healthy. I try to eat 60% raw and the rest is healthy cooked foods...quinoa, steamed sweet potatoes or yams, oatmeal ect. This girl has a really really great book out and its basically the way I try to eat everyday: http://www.kimberlysnyder.net/blog/

She works with lots of celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Fergie, and Kate Hudson. She definitely knows her stuff.

If you are not already, I would recommend going vegan. I did it to try it temporarily over a year ago, and I would never return to the omnivore diet. I lost 12 lbs the first month (and I feel amazing). The books "Skinny Bitch" and "Eat to Live" would be excellent to reference before making this change. Good luck!

Another awesome suggestion is even if you don't want to overhaul your entire diet, eat 1 giant salad as a meal every day. You will add fiber & cut calories without a major change.

    I've done this one: http://www.cambiati.com/ .
It's a 28-day program that tells you exactly what to eat on which days. You quit gluten, sugar, alcohol, vinegar, dairy and anything heavily processed. So basically it's vegan with meat. Everything you do eat should be organic and low on the glycemic index, so no potatoes or canned peaches among other things.

I did it in May and my skin looked amazing, I lost 12 pounds and had zero PMS. If you sign up through the website you get access to coaching and a shit-ton of info and online classes, so I found it worth the money. I'm thinking about doing it again in the fall.

When I worked for LA Weightloss we had a diet that consisted of a bottle of their juice, similar to the hollywood 2 day diet. Unlimited greens, and few a servings of lean protein. You can sub out the juice for a half of a cantalope. Its a good way to lose like 10 pounds of water weight and get started on a lifestyle meal plan
