I'm pro-college, but I know lots of people who have been very successful and happy without a degree. So it's good to be a career sex worker if you're still generally happy working that way, but it's important to have a plan for getting out when things aren't working so well anymore.

The reason I'm so vocal about a college degree on this board is because I think many women entering this industry are very naive (just as I was!), and it's always good to provide some advice outside of the usual "do what makes you happy". Balance is crucial.
Agreed. I just posted on another thread my opinions on how useless degrees are, but i say this as a woman who went into the adult industry late on, after already completing a degree, and getting lots of career/ life experience under my belt. I think if you are totally fresh out of school you really should make some attempt to build skills before/ as well as working purely in the adult industry. Because you need to fill in those gaps in your resume history, and you need a fall back option if ever you want out. Not saying necessarily go to college/ university, but do expand your education through reading, researching, never stop learning! And take the opportunity to do volunteer or part time work in a field you enjoy/ is related to something else you might do in future.

    Another good, balanced perspective.
