    Default Failed auditions?

So this is something I've been wondering as I've been browsing the newbie board. I haven't really seen anyone talking about failed auditions. Does anyone have any stories about audition failures? Considering that's one of the biggest worries I'm gonna have when I get to auditioning it would be nice to hear some stories like that with a positive ending.

I once failed an audition because I was wearing the wrong bottoms (the club required boyshorts but I auditioned in a thong; nobody told me about that beforehand). Plus, that club, in Chesapeake, VA (JB's Gallery, google it on tuscl.com) had the worst poles I've ever tried (they were shorter than me and were thinner than normal, around 45mm) so I decide to only do a few spins 'cause the pole wasn't tall enough to climb it. The manager didn't hire me because I wasn't doing far out pole tricks and he wanted to see that more than a nice booty clap or some sensual floor show (I did plenty of floor work and lots of booty clapping), beside the whole bottom fiasco. Yes, he dare to say that...and he also said: "this is a 'gentlemen's club', we expect class from the dancers, not ghetto moves like booty clap, I want to see pole tricks, you know what I'm saying". Ghetto moves like a booty clap? Who the hell does that manager think he is?! Ah, he's a black guy.

That club is not even an upscale club; is an average pasties neighborhood club in Virginia.

See what I mean with the shorter, thinner poles? I can't do shit on a pole like that!

that's a picture of the establishment.

In other words; if you can contact a dancer from that club, ask her stuff like that.

A few months later I auditioned in their main club down in Elizabeth City (which is truly topless), and I was hired on that one.

Well, for the most part it's hard to fail. Most clubs like new girls cause that's fresh meat. A failure I guess would be any club you try out for and they tell you no. That doesn't mean that you did anything wrong in all causes. It just might mean they don't like for some stupid ass reason.

Most clubs know before they make you do a proper audition (as in getting on stage) if they're going to hire you or not. They can see your face and have a general idea of your body when you show up at the club in normal clothes. There are many clubs that don't even have a formal audition process, and the manger just looks you over and then hires you/not.

If it's the not, they tend to give you some sort of line about them not hiring for whatever reason. Some clubs might give you more feedback about a specific reason why they won't hire you, but I find that most managers tend to be evasive about that sort of thing.

Basically - try not to worry too much. You want to go in there with confidence, especially if they ask you to go on stage and audition. KNOW you're hot shit, look your best, and you should be fine. If the worst case scenario happens, don't take it personally and just try a different club - you never know, it could get up being a way better fit.

The only failed auditions I had was two where I wouldn't have sex with the manager/who was hiring... One I just walked out of, the other I still walked out of but had a piece of the bar thrown at me. How I know that cause the guy backed off when I showed him that didn't scare me..

The others are a bore.. one was cause I couldn't be 90 pounds, one was cause I wasn't blond, one cause I wasn't white.. One cause I wasn't black. Its not a big thing around here, we are more like if it didn't work there it will work tomorrow.

I failed my first audition because I just didn't have any experience. I got up there and kind of teetered around awkwardly on my brand new stripper heels...must have looked sooo bad lol.

The manager was quite nice about it, just told me to go get on day shift at the (pretty divey, but fun) club down the street, and come back again when I wouldn't "get eaten alive". Which is exactly what I did. I haven't gone back to the first place yet, but I may someday, and I'm pretty sure they'd take me now. Just can't take it personally and honestly, he was right. The club I ended up starting out at was slow but full of really sweet girls who were a huge help with getting me my sea legs. I don't think I would have survived at the bigger place.
