Default Ouija boards (non believers need not reply ;) )

Has anyone ever used a ouija board and it worked?? What was your experience?? Is there a safe way to use one? Are there things you can do to prevent harmful spirits from following you or haunting you?

I am a believer in Ouija boards, but only for people who have a psychic connection to the spirit world. I don't think just anyone can use them. But I also cast spells and worship the Goddess and her Consort, so my beliefs don't always mesh with others.

I also feel that bad spirits are more attracted to Ouija boards than good spirits. So to prevent the negative spirits from coming and harming you, I always cast a circle only inviting helpful, positive energy spirits to enter. When I was younger, i used a board and failed to do this. After, I had a horrible time of it for several months til I managed to get rid of the little devil that attached itself to me. I had to get my high priestess to help. It sucked. She's the one who recommended the circle. No problems since then

I think that I may have some sort of connection to the spirit world. I saw a ghost when I was 7, my grandpa was able to talk to a ghost for many years (the whole story is in a thread on SW called Creepiest things you've ever experienced..) and I believe that more things don't happen because I close my mind off to it. However, my aunt passed a few weeks ago and I have other relatives/friends on the other side so I'm thinking I may want to try to communicate with them.
I know that this can be dangerous and it scares the hell outta me but I'm so intrigued by the idea as well.. The circle sounds like a great idea. I actually thought that may be what I'm suppose to do but I wanted to be sure.
Would you mind elaborating on what you experienced?? Who did you talk to, etc..?

I use to play all the time when I was little.
(I actually was gonna buy a new one the other day...wish I would have now)

I swear, we talked to this girl who said she died in a fire in this burnt down building behind our apartments at the time. (Even if one of my friends was moving it, it still really FELT like something/someone was there) In my mind, it was really happening.
We were lucky to have nice spirits.

There was one time though it seemed someone else was trying to talk to us, and was getting angry...that's when we put the board away.
Nothing crazy ever happened, just always had a presence it seemed.

We played with store bought ones, and home made ones.

That was a lot of fun, now I wanna do it again.

I really don't need one.. I walk into a hospital or a cemetery and I'm getting yelled at.. If you want to use a Ouija board get one with the no pass protection symbol on it. Without the symbol they are mostly nothing more than a hole than a door. Its harder to find one with a real symbol but it save the bill when you have to call ghost-busters...

I have a spirit clock and its sealed in a no pass case. And believe me from what I have seen it still creeps me out on a sunny day.

That would be so fun. I was looking up how to cast a circle, this is the first thing that comes up:

Would we need a High Priestess, or can anyone do it??

(I just don't know anything about Wiccans or their religion...or any religion for that matter..lol)

I guess I just think with an open mind, anything is possible.

Wow, really?? Has this happened to you all your life? Have you ever thought about doing readings or anything? What does this symbol look like? What is a spirit clock??

I have a Ouija board and play with it from time to time. I do believe it can affect things though as far as I know it never did anything to me.

Its been happening all my life but less lately, I might be getting lucky and they are getting bored of me. I also might not be listening as much as I use to, I use to go to bed with my music on reply for the whole night. I still do.

But a spirit clock is what it sounds like, a clock but has no battery area.. only gears and pulls. It only ticks when there is either a spirit or a energy area. It also has numbers and letters with a the simple yes and no. It tells time pretty well when it working but when its spelling it always pointed at 13.

    Creepy...
Do you think it's a bad idea to play with a Ouija board??

Sananeko, that clock sounds super creepy.

I used an ouija board my teacher had. Idk what kind it was. I took it from her house...I was young and stupid.

Anyone can cast a circle, you dont need a high priestess for that. Just the energy and will to do it.

I believe I have the Milton Bradley one. I lost the box years ago so the board itself sits on my closet shelf.

Only if you just jump into it without thinking.

If you can't get one with a protection symbol a circle works as long you believe in it. Never have mirrors in the room, never have a phone in the room or a computer, and always have a one third filled bottle of red wine with a cork and a waxing candle to seal after your done and bury in ground with three white stones to place on top.. Its sounds real stupid but better safe than sorry.. I been to eight of the "fun" parties.. and luckily only been thrown once.. Most of the time people say nothing happens but a hole is always left behind that takes years to close up again with left alone.

I say give it a try if you are sure what your doing. I always check to see what has been dead around half mile. and I know you might not get this but please no bells.. I really don't know why people think the sound of the bell will clear the area of bad spirits..

Its harmless.. Only time it wasn't cause my moronic sister took it and tried to bring a devil up in a house of family and friend murders.. I still need to hit my sister over the head with a bat for that. But now it locked and has current.

I remember couple years ago(when I was teenager) my cousins were playing with one in the kitchen. Me, mom, & my brother were there too. It was a young teenage boy, he was an asshole. He called me a bitch bc I kept laughing at something(forgot what it was). LOL.

He also told my cousin she was a couple of days pregnant. She didn't know, so she bought an ept test and it came out positive. She lost that baby.

Anyway, I wouldn't fuck with those things. Some weird ass shit happened that she had to get rid of it.

I've always wanted to play, but never got a chance. It's probably best that I never did. I don't know much about wicca or the occult, but I do know people who cast spells on others, and I've seen the effects. My family is from the islands and take those things very seriously. When I asked for one as a child, my parents refused to buy one and told me if I did they would make me get rid of it.

Sorry to jack it, Im interested to know! I always thought this stuff is awesome to hear. Scared to do it myself though.. Never tried the board, I believe in such things and think it should left alone.. Wouldnt be able to handle it probably.

It is not for the unpracticed. Do not try it just to see what will happen. Do not try it if you're not some sort of practitioner, and even if you are, do not try it if you are new to the art and inexperienced. This is not a game. This isn't something you do because you're bored anymore than you would hold a seance in graveyard under a full moon. Doors can open you can never close and it takes things well beyond asking something to leave once you've called it. The shows on TV make this all into a joke and make it seem harmless. It isn't. Do not meddle with things you don't understand and know nothing about. I can't say it anymore plainly than that.

Ouija boars are bad news bears for a girl like me. My father violently committed suicide when I was 7, and as a result any spirit who my friends or I have come in contact with through the board immediately wants to talk about my dad, or me, and tries to get through to me. i've been in sessions where I was simply standing to the side, with other friends using the board. The spirit was was able to give my father's name, his ex-wifes name, and the date of his death. The board was then left out (stupid, stupid people), and that room was violently haunted.... fuck I hate remembering this. I thought I was being haunted, I had to go through and do some serious meditation and visualization to be ok.

    Oi.

What was I saying? Ah, yes. Don't try to have chats with spirits if any member of your family has met their death by violent and tragic means.

^ I have a similar story. When I was in middle school I had some friends staying the night and a few of us drew up our own ouija board and used the lid of an eyeshadow pan as our cursor. We were in the kitchen, the rest of my friends were watching a movie in the living room. The ouija spelled out "N-O-R-M" at some point during our conversation, and I exclaimed loudly "Haha, who's Norm?". My friend came in from the other room and said "That's my dad's name."

Her dad died when she was very young, and ever since then she's had a strong attraction to spirits. Whenever I would use it with her the pull was much stronger than with other people. I've had some other creepy stuff happen, I don't really wanna mess with those anymore. It seems only sketchy spirits communicate through them.
