Yes, I'm real.

OMG GUYS
(following excited babble will be about paypal)
I was bummed because they accept paypal and google checkout as payment methods. This led me to messing around in paypal because the problem I have always had with paypal is it shows my personal name.
So I clicked to upgrade my account from premier to a business account because that way it will show my business name instead of personal to customers. Under type of business I put Entertainment and Media and one of the subcategories is ADULT DIGITAL CONTENT
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS??!??!??!?!?!? WE CAN TAKE PAYPAL! AAIIIEEEEE
Oh and my customers see Stacy Gable on their invoices instead of my name now
And there's a ton of new business features on my paypal account
uyayayayyayayayyyayayyayayyayayyaya (runs around in circles)
Yes, I'm real.
I just checked out PayPal and I see the Adult Digital Media too!!! I wonder what that means? Somebody should call them and ask!

I found a thread where some other adult content providers found this like.. last year... and were trying to figure out what it meant. They ended up finding a whole maze of ToS that were linked to each other and some of them were outdated and they all contradicted each otherWhy am I wasting my entire day trying to figure this out again? lol
Yes, I'm real.
I saw that forum too and apparently nobody bothered to call them. I am on the phone with them right now...I'll update when I find out.
Ok so I just talked to a supervisor at PayPal and he said (after looking it up for a few minutes) that it is more of a gray area right now. He said that certain obscene adult acts are not permitted but there is no definition of that so as long as you are processing adult payments and do not have a high number of complaints then you should be fine. He also said that you can use it for adult membership sites if you are using "Website Standards" but he said if you tried to update to "Website Pro" that you would pretty much be instantly shut down because "Website Pro" does not allow adult.
I also asked him about what kind of proof that we could provide that proves that we sent the buyer the goods so that they could not instantly dispute it and he said that that's basically the problem right now. They have no system in place for that but he said they were working on something like that.
So I would say, yes you can use it for adult. I am not sure if I am going to use it though. Guys have gotten good at disputing transactions now and there is really no guarantee that they won't. Plus I am imagine they will shut you down if you get too many disputes.

k. It will be easy to prove they received a digital download.
Yes, I'm real.

Yeah, isn't there a receipt that you could require them to click okay before opening the content? I know some forums have return receipts like that.

hmmmmmmmmm.
If I set up a site with one fee per month, so your downloads payed 100% straight to your paypal would yall be interested in that? at all?
Yes, I'm real.
I don't know if yall are right about this cause i tried to add the digital content thing for my account to my site and I got a call THAT NIGHT asking what I was going to be using the paypal account for and why I chose Digital content and then they said they do not accept adult websitesThen why the f do you have Entertainment on there and why the f do you have Digital content under that tab? Doesn't make sense to me but if you find out for sure please let us know! But from my experience they do not accept adult content or member sites and this was just like a week ago..
You might have gotten an uninformed rep... the first girl I talked to had no idea and she transferred me to a supervisor and he told me yes. Under entertainment there is "adult digital content" which obviously means adult, there is no way to decipher that wrong![]()
Hmm thats odd cause Paypal made me take Paypal off and said they have never accepted adult..not just this time. So then they just started accepting adult websites then? Would be nice to know for sure!!I am going to call them tomorrow to confirm
haha

If paypal takes adult stuff why did they kill PJ's daily pay?
Yeah I called Paypal today (again) and they said they absolutely DO NOT accept Adult websites.....

I had an associate in the adult business get burned real bad because he trusted the information he received from a representative (via a phone call) from PayPal. It turned out to be bad information, and he had $12,000 frozen.
He tried to dispute the actions taken against him by PayPal citing his phone conversation with one of their CSRs and the vagueness of the entire picture... which gets very complicated and too long to repeat here.
His situation was similar to the one described in this post. But, PayPal will not back track on their stance on adult processing once they take action against you. Their standard answer in these situations is reciting their firm, no-exceptions-made policy that their service can not be used for adult processing under any circumstances and this they claim is confirmed in their etched-in-stone TOS.
I simply would not trust PayPal to waver from this policy. You're better off using one of their clones who are adult-friendly like AlertPay.com or CashX.com.

ok. I will make sure to get the coding on my site fixed up to pay thru to alertypay. I'll just have to sit on the phone with them and do a lot of pretty pleasing to figure it out lol
Yes, I'm real.
