Default Yoga during an extremely heavy cycle: good or no?

I did a search on this and I couldn't find quite what i was looking for. I could find comments about heavy cycles and I could find threads about yoga, yet nothing that answer's my question.

I am having a very heavy cycle. We're talking changing a kotex super plus tampon that has already seeped through to my super thick regular kotex pad, every two hours. This has been going on since Sunday after I had sex. (Not even rough sex).

I wanted to get a yoga class in this week as my package expires on the 17th. And because I usually do it around twice a week.

I've been told not to do up-side-down stuff, as it makes the flow even heavier. I've also been told to eat more chicken, ginger and warm rice because it helps stop this sort of thing.

So, do you think yoga can help me or should I stay away until my cycle gets lighter (gosh if this one ever does)?

I've spoken with my doc as well. He wants me to try old school bc pills. Progesterone w/ no estrogen. I've read up on that stuff and I really want to try to counteract my situation naturally if I can.

I think if you have to ask, don't do it. It could be REALLY bad. Just do some yoga at home. I like to go on youtube and do them in my living room!

Ooh no no no don't do it. Ooh that just could be one of those moments where you leave with your jacket around your waist. I say wait until the lighter days for sure. I don't even leave my house for 2-3 days when it starts. It's pointless because I have messed up my clothes countless times. Or had some get together where I was the person that seemed like I was afraid to show my waist line. Ugg too many horrible memories of the "OOH NO!!!" moments. If it's only a few days then let those go by.

Yoga at home could be alot of fun too!

You are both probably right. I just love the studio but come to think of it, it is usually really hot since most people are there for the sweat benefits, which makes the flow worse.

It was so bad today, I took my friend to the airport this morning and took a coastal road back and wanted to stop at a fresh bakery. Got out of the car and felt that wet rush

Back in the car and no fresh bakery goods for me today.

Yoga helps with the cramps and such... Laying on the tummy and doing things like upside down stuff will make you bleed harder... If you are comfortable with going and checking every 30-60mins whether you need a change or not, then go for it! I never had flow that strong.. if every 2 hrs seems plenty, that I would just stay home... I dont like running to the bathroom when Im in a public place! But if YOUR comfortable with that, go for it. Seems to me your worried about it, do yoga at home it'll be more relaxing without being concerned when to run to the bathroom for a check-up. We all know that gets to us.

I am a certified yoga instructor and wanted to tell you that the only thing you really should avoid are inversions. The flow is supposed to go one way and not the other.

Other than that, I think the benefits outweigh the risks. It certainly helps with cramps and improves the mood.

I can understand the fear of having an accident while in class. I think if you took proper precautions this could be safely avoided, unless I am absolutely misunderstanding the severity of your flow. Just make sure you change everything out right before class, wear panties (maybe double layers) and thicker pants. Also, if you start to get worried in the middle, just quietly slip out to the restroom to check everything out. I think you'd be fine.
