    Dizzy I swear to god, this is ALL i want to eat when i'm on my period!!!

    all i want to eat is cereal and milk!! all day!! breakfast, lunch, dinner.

    could this be because the calcium helps with cramps and the iron helps your body since its losing blood? (gross i know)

    i'm borderline anemic. so that's what i'm thinking. all i want is skim milk and wheat chex or kashi golean crunch.

    i usually eat this for breakfast and lunch then have a normal dinner when i'm on my period.

    is this ok?

    i'm trying to lose weight, so i'll try to eat something different, but my body craves milk and cereal until i give in then i feel better.

    Could be the anemia making you want to eat those iron fortified cereals. At least its healthy!

    that's what i'm thinking. i just wanted to make sure it was ok and wouldn't throw my diet off track as long as i stay within the same range of calories i eat every day (which i do when i eat cereal twice a day like this). just got self conscious about it!

    i dont think cereal and milk is really the best thing, i guess if you are having special k or something fortified its good. I am anemic and crave a lot of salty/crunchy stuff, used to crave cereal too and eat like half a box of special k redberries in a sitting, but if your body is really craving it for the nutrition its better to take iron pills, drinking a glass of oj with it helps your body absorb the iron, and eat lots of dark leafy greens, beans, and other more iron rich foods. Bananas are good for cramps so is coconut water (young coconut juice) they are both a good source of natural potassium.

    All the cereal is really doing is satisfying your sodium/carb cravings and is probably ultimately making you more bloated/fatigued. A better breakfast for your diet, and your anemia, would be something like wheat toast with a slice of swiss cheese, spinach, and a poached egg on top with a banana or other piece of fruit on the side. PROTEIN is really necessary.

    sorry im a health nut who has been borderline anemic for 10 years really there are waaay worse things you could be binging on. I just found that when i finally broke my daily cereal and tortilla chip snack attacks I dropped a good bit of weight and felt more energized. I seriously dont even buy cereal anymore bc I know I will eat it alllllll.

    when im on my period i just want chocolate, fruit and mineral water. I get so nauseous most food sounds awful It sucks because I always feel really hungry too! Why is it then when youre on the rag you feel all bloated and fat but at the same time youre twice as hungry as usual? I think its some kind of twisted joke

    ^^^all of that advice was perfect! that seems to make sense, if i take iron pills i won't crave cereal (aka starch) just cuz it has iron in it.

    i can't eat bananas cuz i'm allergic. idk if i'm really allergic i just throw up the rest of the day if i eat them o.O so i don't eat them lol

    drink coconut water its yummy and full of potassium, calcium, and electrolytes, so its kicks the asses of both cramps AND hangovers....I swear by it! get the unsweetened kind and make sure it is coconut WATER not juice, the water kind comes from baby coconuts so theyre two diff things

    I can't stop eating wheat thins! And I annihilated a whole bar of chocolate last night. I'm a cereal junkie too... there's this cascadian farm organic version of cinnamon toast crunch that I can't keep away from. It's sooo good!

    I used to be really low energy all the time and suspected being anemic, recently started taking iron pills and it has helped.

    I'm extremely anemic, so when it's period time, I crave iron-rich foods like whoa.

    I turn into a zombie, craving bloody rare steak non-stop, it's insane.

    A few days before your period starts, take an iron pill supplement (I take mine all the time, but double my doses for my period), and you'll find your cravings are much more manageable.
