I try and live by "two wrongs don't make a right", but this was actually satisfying to read.
Bastard shouldn't be knocked out first. She wasn't given that benefit.
I know right?! At least he's getting what he deserves... that poor woman needs justice. Looking at her pictures of how beautiful she was, it makes me so sad![]()

Thanks for sharingIt is very fulfilling to read something like this, especially when it comes to a woman getting justice in a country like Iran. I agree, he shouldn't be knocked out. He should be awake and feel the pain. He should get it thrown on his face as well....

^Agreed.
I agree with 4ever.. two wrongs dont make a right, but after reading it, Im glad.
Its sad, why wasnt he punished before? Poor woman... I feel bad for women in such countries having to put up with such disgusting behevaiour. She did nothing wrong, she didnt deserve that at all... Its so depressing. Why only 5 drops? It should be a whole can to his face. Its hard to see that.. it makes me blessed where I am...

As someone who has suffered a permanenet eye injury, this whole thing makes me feel very queasy. I know he's a freaking evil person and it is a rare treat to see a woman receive justice in her favor in that part of the world, but I still feel bad for both of them.

It sucks that she can't watch the effects of the acid in his eyes. That would be the most gratifying part of the whole thing for me.
That is such an awful thing to happen to that woman, but I think the payback option is excellent!!!

She should throw him into a pool of acid.
But is it just me, or does she look like Lady Gaga (with black hair) in her former pictures?

No. That's wrong. I know he did something shocking and terrible to her, and perhaps this new punishment will deter people from throwing acid at each other, but I don't agree with it. Lock him up. Cut off one of his fingers. But don't take away someone's sight just because they did it to you.
I think this is very disturbing and wrong. Islam laws maintain the antiquated culture that abuses its people and murders its citizens, an eye for an eye is how matters were settled thousands of years ago. For a country that stones individuals for adultery this is hardly unexpected. How can we as westerns dispute stoning of individuals because of adultery through online petitions but support the torture of someone else?
Women's autonomy isn't obtained through retribution but through much more difficult means like forgiving. Iran's laws desperately need re-advising, beginning with Sharia Law, which hinders women's development.
OK I'm all for an eye for an eye, but is he going to get it thrown at his face the way it was hers? & fine you got revenge, but can she also sue him to pay the cost of pain & suffering if so is he worth to her more having sight so he can continue working to provide for her? is this only 1 eye btw becuz if so then yeah I would say it's 4 the best so he can personality know how what he did effected another person's life & I think they should do it like it was done to her awake -- thrown in his face 2 teach him a lesson. It's cruel, & doesn't bring back her beauty or sight, but he won't be doing that again & it will teach people not to be cruel to others if for no other reason then then they won't have to face the same fate. Those who say they shouldn't blind the guy over it well that's nice to say when that guy didn't attack you or a loved 1, but heaven 4bid any1 attack any1 I love like that cuz life behind bars would be merciful as this woman has a life sentence of suffering over his ass & it wouldn't be justice for him to get free tv & food on the government's tab in my eyes.

I'm pretty speechless.
I do believe "An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind". First, he obviously never really loved this woman to begin with or he could not have brought himself to harm her. I have a feeling this has more to do with embarrassment... wanting her to feel ashamed for having rejected him because he probably felt ashamed to have been rejected. Doing this back to him is only going to cause him more hate, I doubt it will cause him anymore shame. Personally I think what he did was terrible, & the government should come up with something a bit more unique. Possibly they could come up with a way to "mark" him... like tattooing/branding "X" across both of his eyes so that every woman in his country would recognize him. Then he could SEE how disgusted every woman (& some men) felt about what he did to her. Let him watch women refuse to service him, to not look him in the eye, to turn away when he tries to speak to them. He needs to know that just because one woman rejects you doesn't mean every woman would have... but if you do something so horrid you'll have to really repent to find someone willing to care about you.
Also, if he wanted to take care of her... fine, he can send a check every month to the government for the majority of his earnings. The government can forward it to her. He has no business being anywhere near her ever again. As a matter of fact I think there are many places he should be banned from if they ever even let him out of jail. Don't let him leave the country, he shouldn't be able to ever marry unless this woman finds a husband first, nor should he be allowed in places where many women frequent. Let him write & speak to show his repent, but any money from it should go to her. Maybe the court ought to make him devote his life to religion & sending money to be funneled to her though the government.
There's nothing really unique or shameful about what they are doing to him. While the numbers may not be huge, there are many people who have their faces or bodies disfigured through various means. Plus, why are they putting him to sleep? She obviously didn't have that! In reality their solution is much more "humane" than what he gave her. People can get over how they look or are physically treated... but emotional wounds run much deeper. Plenty of people are blind or disfigured, & this woman knows that. It's her pride & opportunity that he really hurt. He took away things that would have brought happiness into her life. She may never get married, have children, or be able to earn her living as she once did.
As for her, she says she wants to write a book with her own hands more than anything, why doesn't she do it? Nothing mentions her hands being disfigured. Anyone who has ever worked with a graphics tablet or taken art classes knows that you don't really need to see in order to write or draw. It seems someone could set up a system so she'd know where the lines are on the paper (I can even think how to do that), or get her computer software or a voice recorder to allow her to do this. That man's money should go towards paying for this. There is no doubt in my mind that this would be published. She needs to use what happened to her to keep it from happening to others. She should be touring the world talking about this to school groups, women's rights groups, etc.
From Wikipedia:
"If this sentence is properly publicised in the media, it will stop the repetition of such incidents," he [her lawyer] said. "Awareness of the punishment has a huge deterrent effect in stopping social crimes."[3] However, human rights advocates have strongly criticized the punishment.
Both of those statements are true, & somewhere in between them there is a solution.
For those interested there are MANY videos on YouTube of her.

^ Yes, it's barbaric, but this kind of thing happens to women over there all the time! It happens in other countries too. I feel like knowing the consequence for getting caught doing this is acid in the eyes will deter a lot of men over there from attempting this. If they know all they're going to get is some prison time I doubt they're going to think twice (look at how overcrowded our prisons are with sickos). It needs to stop. And if setting an example like this is going to get the ball rolling, I'm all for it.
*edit: I watched the video, and this crime is not common in Iran, but does happen in other parts of the world.

Ehh... Until that country makes some serious changes, this might be a good thing.

Capital punishment doesn't decrease the murder rate. At least, there is no direct evidence of it ever doing so. A person in the extreme emotional state that would cause them to commit murder or throw acid in someone's face is not thinking rationally about the consequences of their actions.

I also dont believe two wrongs make a right..while she may get revenge.. it will be a short lived gratification... not to mention by throwing acid in his face, she may be just as bad as him... Dont get me wrong he deserves it.. but it just seems so sadistic.
It's a priveledge for her to be able to name the sentence. So many victims of violence would have liked to be in her shoes. Many people don't want to hurt anybody, regardless of the crime committed, but it's nice for them to have a choice. She will never have her face back. She will never get to see her loved ones again. She will live in agony, but at least she was given some power in this situation.
If all victims were allowed to choose punishments a lot of would be criminals would be deterred in fear. Of course the punishments would not always be just, but they aren't always just in the current system either.
He's actually been given a reprieve at the 11th hour

As it seems a large proportion of posters on this thread are supporting this aspect of Sharia law I thought I might mention a few things about it.
To some this instance may seem like justice, but usually Sharia is not on the side of the woman and is in most peoples opinion a cruel and barbaric system.
Let's take a look at some of the facts :
Iran still requires a women to have written permission from her husband to travel
If a couple divorce the children remain with the father - if he dies the children go to the nearest male relative (even if he is unknown to the children).
Citizenship is through paternity....this means if you or I have a child with an Iranian man in ANY country, that child is under Sharia law automatically Iranian. That man can then kidnap that child and once safely in Iran our governments would have little power to retrieve that child.
If a Father decides to kill his children he will receive 3-10 years in prison ONLY (no eye for an eye there then !)
Adultery anyone ? Well if you are even accused of it by your husband in Iran then your trial is at best unfair !
Under Sharia law a woman's testimony is worth only HALF of a mans, therefore they often don't even allow her to speak to defend herself.
Lawyers that defend women often have to go into hiding, so it is hard to find one to represent her in court,
Execution : There are 130 offences that are punishable by death, among them adultery, apostasy, blasphemy, heresy.
Methods of execution vary - commonly people are hung by cranes in the squares.

Women buried up to their necks and have rocks thrown at their head and face until they die.
In the UK there is huge pressure on our government to make Sharia law enforceable for the Muslim community.
So far this has been strongly apposed....I wonder why ?!
