    Default Moving to Canada?

I am a US citizen. I am thinking of moving to Canada. I looked up citizen paperwork and it was really confusing. Can anyone from Canada help me out?

I'm a Canadian citizen, and was able to sponsor my husband. If you don't have family to sponsor you (to get a Family Class visa), or a letter of intent to employ, getting a work permit can be a bitch. I would advise calling an immigration attorney.

Hmmm so as a independent contractor it won't be easy at all to get employment papers or at least get a permanent resident status? I have looked at living in every other english speaking country. It is so hard to get out of America when you have the cursed title as a american citizen! I work online here in America and get paid so idk how to do this.

You will have to contact an immigration lawyer.

I am a canadian citizen and I have no idea how it works.

Canada is very forgiving for letting americans stay in the country for a long time.

**I'm not an expert, but here's what I understand**

Emigration to Canada is granted on a point-system. Its based on work experience, education, language, and other things - there's even varying points for where in Canada you intend to move. Application as a skilled worker is straight-forward, application as an unskilled worker is nearly impossible. To be a skilled worker as an IC gets a little tricky to prove, and I don't know if anything adult qualifies as skilled labour (it is! but legally...?). Also, if you are dishonest about your employment/earnings in any way I'd be concerned because economic stability/having a job lined up in Canada are big point earners on your application.

Get an immigration lawyer, and when you get up here and are in Toronto shoot me a PM
