    Default Fog machines

Has anyone else worked at a club where they are insane with the fog machine. I don't think I can even work at this club again. I basically cleaned out my locker the other night. It is making me sick. I asked the dj not to do it when I was on stage but he was still doing it with everyone else continuously all night long. He said that he was told that he has to.
I did some research and found that there are well known negative effects that come with breathing this crap in. It's a nice club with good looking girls but people have to breath. Customers actually leave the club. I will speak to the manager to see if he can talk to the owner before I completely clean out my locker. No one wants to hang out in a toxic club that will make them sick.
I really do feel sick. My lungs hurt and my throat hurts too. It messes with your eyes too. Now I know it's not the flu or a cold.

My club has a fog machine and I hate it, too. The DJ doesn't use it continuously, though... only on busy nights maybe once or twice an hour. Our club is pretty small, and the smoke gets everywhere, even in the dressing room. It also sucks when you're on stage and it's so foggy, you can't see where the stage ends... disaster waiting to happen! lol

They should be able to tone it down. Using it *that much* is ridiculous... especially if it's driving girls and customers to leave. It's not like the fog is what's bringing in the money.

ETA: I'd probably leave, too, if I were in your situation. There's no need to work in an unhealthy environment that's making you sick... dancing is a hard enough job as it is. If they can't clear up the air, you should just find a new club.

Thanks. It also made my brain foggy after several days and hours of that. My throat is finally feeling better today. People have to breathe. That is essential for life. It's like working in a gas chamber. And you are right -Toxic Fog does not bring or keep custys. I am amazed that no one has ever sued the manufacturers of those machines. Aren't there supposed to be some sort of public safety standards that all manufacturers are supposed to follow?

Here is an article about the health hazards of fog machines. It's even in wikipedia.
    http://www.mindfully.org/Health/Stage-Fog-Risk.htm

There are some people who don't like cigarette smoke. That is just a tiny puff of toxic smoke. These fog machines are brutal because the toxic smoke dominates the whole room. Especially in a tiny club and when done non stop throughout the night. They use glycol which is the toxic ingredient in antifreeze!

The more research I do I have found that a lot of people have sued over fog machines because it causes people to have asthma attacks. Even cigarettes don't do that.
