I always have some pen& paper in my kitchen, near the kitchen scale and I write down fast what i have in my plate and how much it weights. Then, later, when I have time, I put into to the app. No need to enter right away.
When I go at restaurant, I take a small pic to the menu (at least here, it says the weight of the food) and enter later in the app, or just keep in mind the quantity and enter in the app, till they bring the food.
Same as when I cook/ create a new recipe. Usually, I follow internet recipes, so is easy for me to write right away the quanities and the servings in the app, even before I cook. That way I know how many calories a serving has and I can even modify it.
If I am cooking by myself, before I start cooking, I write down on that paper the ingredients and the weight and add the recipe later, in the app.
Oh and one more thing. Sometimes I skip ingredients low on calories (tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, etc), just because I am lazy to enter and anyway they don't matter much (a tomato has only 10 calories or so, for example).
Afterall, is not a tragedy if you are eating 100 calories over your goal.
