Default If you were me... (suggestions)

Things were going well at my bar for a while until 3 about weeks ago. First the owners hired a shit ton of girls for race weekend, then come to find out a good portion of these girls are doing a lot of extras. As well as bringing back contact dollar dances that were killing a lot of the girls' earnings previously, by way of a majority vote. I worked at some other clubs and auditioned at some that didnt hire me at all, but I wasn't satisfied.

While I'm aware that the girls that were hired for race weekend specifically will go somewhere else, I'm not too happy about the other conditions at my club with not making much money any more plus I was starting to get burned out. So I basically said "fuck this shit!" and stopped dancing.

Both owners did not want me to quit so I got offered some bartending shifts which I'm grateful for (not beaucoups bucks but it's consistent) in addition to my day job and now my side gig as a bellydance instructor (yay!!!)

The issue I'm having now is the other goals that I want to achieve. I want to hire a personal trainer to help me get in super shape, super fast. I want to go back to school and after being on a 2 year hiatus, its time. Also I want to improve my pole skills so that I can do competitions.

So that's the rub, I would like some input. Which should I do first? Do you think I should continue dancing? Should I find somewhere else to dance and/or bartend at and just say fuck this club entirely?

I know this was long, so thank you for reading

Most Denver clubs no longer hire extra entertainers for big events after the All Stars Week many years back lead to a number of prostitutes getting hire... which actually led to clubs losing money. Its sad that happened because so many entertainers do follow seasons & events so now Denver is pretty much not a place to consider.

With that said, when you see this sort of thing happening it is usually better to take yourself out of the loop. Meaning, don't dance while these events are going on. Even if you are clean, the fact that other entertainers are not means there's a higher chance that tickets will be issued... & sometimes clean dancers can end up in the mix. While you could fight these & win, they are a hassle either way. Waitressing is a better option, & then go back to dancing once these girls leave. Honestly what I'd say you should do is tell your manager that you really appreciate the waitressing offer, & that you accept it, however be forthcoming about WHY you decided that dancing during the event was not good. Managers & owners need to be reminded that when they hire entertainers who provide extras they put others at risk for legal issues.

As far as what to do with the money it depends on how long you plan to stay in this industry. For me the answer would be a personal trainer. However, if you know 100% that you don't want to dance as a career... opt to put the money into school.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.
