Default Laser Hair Removal and tipping

Jessatron and I have a consult to zap our armpits/pussies this Tuesday. We were wondering, do you tip your medical cosmetic specialist? Not just lasering but IPL, Fraxel, injectables, etc?

So far we're decided if you have a degree tipping is inappropriate, ie tip for your nails/eyebrows/if you get your botox done in a non-dermatologist's-office setting but obviosuly do NOT tip a dermatologist.

    What do you ladies think?

I have never heard of tipping at a doctors office, however most appreciate signs of gratitude. You could send a thank you card & a fruit basket (great for the office to share) or gift card to a restaurant.

I tip my laser hair removal tech. $20 per visit. I have no idea if that is an appropriate amount. I am getting a Brazilian done. My thought is that maybe she will do a better job of getting the 'nooks and crannies' if there is a tip involved.

I'd also love to hear other people's thoughts.

Also, I paid $200 through Groupon for the service. I believe it was well over $1000 for full price. I have 6 sessions and was planning to tip $20 per visit.

I was always curious if others did but I am not going to tip them because IMO they are already charging me a good chunk of change for full body, why should I give them anymore money? The estheticians make good money already so I am not trying to be a dick about it

That often has to do more with the credit card machine/printer being programmed to include a spot for the tip. They probably can't reprogram the model they have to not include a tip area, so they cross it out as a courtesy reminder that tips aren't expected.

Thank you ladies! I didn't want to ask or not tip if its expected.

Kylea a basket sounds nice, especially because there's 2 of us going for treatment. Do I send the basket after my last treatment? Halfway? Some time before my last one but after the middle? I have no idea but it sounds like a nice thing to do.

That's a really good price, wow! We're paying $200/girl per session.
