    Default Birth control issues

Ugh, I feel like I just cannot find a good birth control for my body! I started out on Ortho Tri-something-or-other lol But for some reason, it made me really nauseated and tired every time I took it, even if I made sure to take it with food. I attempted a couple times to go on progestin-only methods (both on pills and Depo Provera) but apparently they just make me bleed constantly. Not just like irregular spotting, but a heavy flow all the time. I refused to get another shot of Depo because I had bleeding for 2 months straight and the doctor said that might continue for up to a year No thanks... I guess I don't have enough natural estrogen for my body to handle progestin-only.

I'm now on Aviane but it makes me bloat so badly! I've actually been eating better and working out again lately but I could not feel chubbier. Ironically during the week I'm off the pills though, I feel like my normal size. I know a lot of BC will make you bloaty, but it's so disgusting and frustrating to feel fat 3 weeks out of the month! Has anyone else had problems with finding a good BC for their body? What do you use?

Yes. I was on Alesse last year and it made me want to eat everything in sight, constantly tired, and to top it off, a straight-up CRAZY-cry-baby-psycho-bitch. I'm on Marvelon/April28 now for 2 months and I have no major complaints. It makes me SUPER nauseous a couple days a month, but gravol and a nap takes care of that. It made me really bloaty for the first 2 weeks, but not so much afterwards, no appetite effects.

I use loestrin 24 fe. I've been on it for a year and for the first nine months it was cool. Really short, light periods, fewer pms symptoms, perfect cycles. then about 3 months ago I started having increased discharge which became too uncomfortable so I stopped taking them. (& it was not any type of infection) IN ALL FAIRNESS I believe this happened to me because right before those issues happened I stopped taking them as instructed & randomly started back up on my own. (I lost them on a trip then found them about a month later, don't ask why I didn't just get some more. I was being really lazy I guess since I was single at the time) I feel that if I had continued to take them correctly I would never had any problems.

Loestrin 24 fe seems to be a really good bc if you are looking to cut back symptoms. The only side effect I had during the months where I took them properly was no period for the first 3 months & I wasn't complaining about that!

If you want to avoid the problems with hormonal birth control consider getting an IUD.
