    Default Weapons in the club?

We have guys with wands at the doors, usually. But not always. It's amazing how many people try to bring weapons in. And Key West is supposed to be a mellow island!

OK it is mellow--but there is also a serious undercurrent of violence here, due to the Miami punks coming down, the smugglers and dealers, the strange foreigners many of whom are illegal and doing illegal things, etc. There's way more fights in the clubs here than in Daytona stripclubs--but less murders.

So anyway a dancer was doing a dance for a guy the other night and she felt a gun--I don't know exactly where but it was real alright. She got the manager (who also has weapons if he needs them) and they got the guy out of there.

So just curious--how often do you see this (or hear about it) in your clubs?

It was a woman bringing the hatchet in? So what happened, they threw her out, right? Did she get arrested?

they threw her out. There were fights at the club every night. There was one I was there for where two huge groups of guys started fighting over nothing! and each broke off into fighting another one from the other group. It was insane. At least it didn't turn into a circle jerk 10 on 1 though!

eventually the cops just started hanging out in the parking lot at closing. And no, she didn't get arrested. Just kicked out.

We had a dude come in with a gun one night when I worked in New Orleans. The GM did nothing about it and said to leave the guy alone. Luckily I wasn't working, but my husband was and he was pretty upset about it.

I've only personally encountered pepper spray.

However, I will say that Athena & I worked at a club last year where a customer was shot by the manager. The customer was being a pain in the butt apparently, fighting with other customers etc., so the manager asked them to leave, a fight started & the manager pulled out a gun & shot the customer. Luckily it wasn't serious, the bullet barely nicked the customer, but it did scare the guy off. The downside? Customer sued & the manager went to jail for months until the trial went through.

Some of the clubs do check for weapons, generally just pat downs though.

I once worked at a club where it was common to have gang members come in with guns. Eventually the managers started not to allow people dressed in gang colors (he got a list of what each gang wore). He should have done it earlier but luckily no one ever got hurt. Other clubs would have guys sneaking in guns but they were always caught.

God knows there were all kinds of weapons in that last club I worked in in Daytona--especially during Bike week and Biketoberfest. During those two weeks a major motorcycle gang basically took the bar over, and almost all of them were packing something.

But there were very few fights.

After they (not the bikers) shot my friends out of that club, I had all kinds of weapons in the booth, including a hatchet lol--but no guns. Which I forgot about completely when some nasty shit went down a couple months later. But I didn't need them anyway. Probably a good thing I didn't bust out that sword.

I will never forget one night after closing at my present club, when the managers and bouncers started showing what guns they had. It was a veritable arsenal. If anyone tries shooting someone here, they will probably be sorry...

When I worked in Memphis yes. Saw this dbag I went to school with come in there with a gun and hit a girl in the head with a pistol. His gf, really his hoe, didn't make her quota so she lied and said another girl that always made a lot of money stole her $200. He waited until right at the end of night acted like he was going in the bathroom and went in the dressing room. The chick's gf hopped in front of her after he tried to snatch her bag and he hit her with the pistol and grabbed his chick and ran out when the other girl wouldn't let the bag go.I saw the gun come out on his way down the hall then the other bartender and I called security while we crawled into the walkin cooler. It was nuts. The girl he tried to rob had a husband who worked for the sheriff's dept. He got seriously caught up.

A manager at a club there now just got put in jail for shooting at a car of customers who had displayed a gun inside and been asked to leave who were doing donuts in the lot. Well, he ended up shooting the guy in the head as they drove away so he's pretty much done. At this same club 3 months before this one of the girl's shot at security after she got fired. She was later rehired and arrested when undercovers raided the club. She had been selling drugs and trying to make dates with cops.

At my current club the wildest thing so far has been a fight simultaneously on the floor between customers and a female customer and dancer in the bathroom. No weapons though.
Thank Goodness I smartened up! The old me is dead and gone.

Haha saw an appliance duel in the dressing room once. The hair straightener beat the hair dryer. Only stitches for one girl, but the other was on parole and went to jail for a while.

i had a really awesome experience during my first week dancing when this custy, fresh out of prison, got hype with one of the bouncers, pulled a gun out and started raving it around while i stood there and demanded he pay me before shooting anyone.
