Totally!!!! I've know girls to sue certain clubs just to get a quick $1000 check , I've been asked but have always declined... I don't see the point in suing a club when there are thousands you can just up & quit the one you dislike & on to the next.

I don't get why everyone is freaking out about this. I work at spearmint rhino Vegas. We are getting minimum wage in addition to what we are used to already making so what's the big deal? Also the taking 25 percent out of your chips sucks yes but, there is a solution - just take the guy to the ATM and make him pay you cash! Or keep those chips to tip bouncers/hosts cause they keep the whole value of the chip, unlike entertainers.

^ Because more changes will come this is just the beginning. Us traveling girls like me are gonna be up shits creek if Every club does this! I could care less about rhinios because I don't work at any but all the corporate clubs are next and when I'm selling 4 suites a shift or more and should be making 12-2000 but make 800 not including the over 140 plus I pay to the club and they might take more then I'm worried!

....And I won't just be able to pop in to a club and work 5-10 shifts!

Michele11, as far as I know you can still pop in and work 5 to 10 shifts... You won't get health insurance is all.

Maggs , you are speaking of what's going on at your club. Who knows what will occur with OTHER corporate clubs if they follow this route. I could care less about insurance, I'm smart enough to have had my own policy that I pay 350 a month for since I was 20.

Personally, I'm freaking out about it for very different reasons than money!!! I'm well used to strip clubs taking large percentages, and really, I'm over it. Why I care is to do with the control that this will give the clubs!! I strip because I love the flexibility - if we are employees, the clubs will have the power to force schedules, minimum hours, minimum "quotas", hours....that makes me want to run away!!! If I wanted to deal with all THAT crap, I wouldn't strip. Every time I have heard about a club making girls "employees" it has always ended up with about ten thousand more rules, stricter schedules, and less money.
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

that shit already exists in regular clubs. even if a large portion of clubs switched to employees I highly doubt they would go from 100% freedom to crazy lockdown, they know they will lose all quality girls if they make a huge change.

all I can say at this point is...

    - wait until the W2's arrive next Febuary and the tax returns / tax bills are calculated before assuming that this change is 'no big deal'

    - wait until the club across the street that for the moment still treats dancers as independent contractors is also forced to adopt 'employee' dancer classification.

Charlotte is absolutely right. Of course I can't speak for other clubs but Las Vegas rhino is not forcing any minimum hours. Nothing has changed. You can still come and go as you please. There are no quotas or forced schedules, FYI to manyroses

Am I the only one that assumes the irs will be all over US because of this? Does the irs know we still pay to work from becoming employees or not? I dont think a $0.00 makes sense if they assume these fees are gone when they are not.

I work at a Spearmint Rhino (WPB not Vegas) and they just had us sign documents saying we rejected employment staus, everything stayed the same. Been so slow though, ugh Florida summers :/

None of this has existed in any club I have worked at - definitely not QUOTAS!! The closest I have come to this is having to phone in your schedule at the start of the week.

That said, I know it exists, and make a serious effort to avoid it!!! I just dislike anything that moves that toward the norm.

Thanks Maggs - I've worked at a SR before, and loved it, so I am happy to hear that they are keeping the rest the same!

that's what they are doing in my club, so if girls try and sue they can say they gave them the option..they are allowed to do that though? my club has never been too concerned with rules or regulations but im hoping they at least give us that option in general if this ever comes about
