Do you guys know of any good books / resources (besides SW of course) for people looking to start webcam modeling? I'm looking to learn more.
Thanks!

Why write a book, when it is simple to do or get started?
Smooches,
Sam

There are a few blogs online, some of the webcam sites make a model guide,
in the camgirls documentary on my page one of them made a book about camgirls but nothing about getting started because it's really about being online and getting it going. I don't think a book would be profitable with so many online places.

before i started this, i was in my research before entering phase and could not find any book except this pamphlet that is suppose to be a book. it's called "webcam models make alot of money and here is how" by kiesha richcreek. total waste of money i paid like 20 bucks for it and all i got was the same shit i see online. didn't learn anything new from it. but then i found this site and was blown away by all the info i found here on this site alone. there are no webcam modeling books out there except that one. but if someone were to compile all the info found on this site, could easily make a book with it.

Cool, thanks for the input. Just wanted to see if there were any good resources for camming. From the sounds of it organized sources are far and few between. I definitely agree how SW has a lot of good threads...but I guess there's no like Dummy's Guide to Web Camming...
BubbleGumBitch, for the book you bought what kind of info were you hoping on getting out of it that it didn't give you?
We're thinking of putting together a resource based on the information we get from interviewing cam models, but before we do that just want to make sure it'd be helpful for people...

Everything changes so quickly it'd be pretty useless unless you updated it all the time.
I used to recommend ImLive for new hosts. Now it'd be the last place I'd recommend. The only sure thing in this biz is change.
well i was looking for an all-in-one type of thing, like a camgirl 101 for beginning and maintaining webcam modeling business. i wasn't sure what i was gonna get from the book, so i just bought it and wanted to see what kind of meaningful info it had, on webcam modeling. she goes into talk about webcam modeling and how you can make lots of money, yada, yada, yada, and then proceeds to talk about the major sites to work with and what the percentages are (exact same shit you see on the net). to work out and eat healthy and how to hustle like a stripper and what other online jobs you can do. i dont think she knew what she wanted to write about, being a webcam model, stripper or stay at home mom-online non-adult business. it looks like a 5 year compiled and wrote this book, i am sorryif ya want i can send you the book in the mail, i still have it and have no use for it. was planning on trashing it if anything.

That's a very good point after just a few interview with some cam models I learned that there are very few cam sites which seem to maintain their lead in the marketplace. Though Streamate seems to be one most people I talk to all like. THey have told me a bunch that no longer exist...
Thanks for the input...

alright alright - I'll write the book.

There is no such thing as a dummy's guide to webcamming. It's so easy even a dummy can understand it. Now the dummy will have to know basic things like googling and reading so he/she can read the blogs that pop up when you search "become a webcam model". I've been asked many times to write an ebook and charge for it but I refuse. That's just taking advantage of someone when the info is here for free.

The tough part I think for people to get started is learning how to avoid scams or understanding how things work in the industry. Like difference between working with studios or just going direct with the cam site itself. While I think SW has a ton of great resources unfortunately it's spread across different threads. So it is more time consuming to dig through and sift through. You can google this stuff too, but we know how you have to take most of the stuff you find online with a grain of salt.
I don't think putting together a book and selling it is taking advantage of someone if the information is already out there for free. There's lot of free online tutorials on how to learn HTML or how to use Twitter, but there are also a lot of books on that kind of stuff. As long as you are providing value, organizing it in a useful way (that hopefully saves people time) I think it's a good thing.
